Former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores as part of his class-action lawsuit against the NFL which part of it includes against Miami ; claims Dolphins owner wanted the no1 overall pick so bad that he was telling his head coach Flores to tank games for $100,000 a game.

It was already being reported the Dolphins were willing to trade a lot of picks for Joe Burrow, this just piles on that narrative. Flores was fired this season despite Miami winning 8 games in a row after losing 7 games.

Owners tell teams to tank for number 1 pick.

That’s certainly not true.

He also claimed racism in the hiring prices because Daboll was hired before he interviewed even though the giants completed two interviews with black candidates (Frazier and Graham).

It sounds like sour grapes on the Giants and Broncos claim and he better have some documents on the Ross one.

There's only one certainty here. Flores will never coach in the NFL again. This is career suicide.

If they had got him could be the dolphins in the SB.

Sad, he really wasn’t bad in Miami.

Back in the Day, the NBA (which I watched in the late 70's and threw the Bird/Magic era in 80's into the Jordan era of the 90's; Jordan got into the league in 84-85 and could not win till the Bird/Magic/Bad Boy Pistons ran out of gas), the NBA stopped the tank for the #1 pick by putting all the teams who missed the playoffs into 2 pools, the worst 3/4 teams etc were in a lottery to get the #1 pick, the next set of teams were in the lottery to get say pick 5 through 8, etc.

If the Dolphins owner did do that, there should be fines and some draft picks taken away from them and re-allocated to other teams.

Lots of NFL analyst were saying it looks like the Dolphins were tanking during that 2019 season. That is when it was happening.

The Dolphins looked like they were tanking since about 2003. Flores also had an overall losing record and never made the playoffs. Plenty of white coaches get fired after 3 years of that.

This lawsuit is as dumb as the Rooney Rule. Up next... losing draft picks if you hire a whitey.

Will these "equitable representation" rules will also apply to team rosters?

I’d say his text with Bill Belichick are pretty good evidence. Bill thought he was talking to the new Giants coach but he was texting with Flores.

He said congrats hear Giants are going with you thinking he was talking to Giants new coach.

Flores interview was two days after those text with Bill.

He’s got some solid evidence on his hand

They should lose picks if they were deliberately tanking, that is if Flores can show that the Owner did in fact direct him to tank and throw games. I could care less who gets hired.

So putting ‘stop racism’ signs on helmets and end zones, was completely meaningless. Shocker

Should teams that have their playoff spot locked up lose draft picks for sitting starters in the final game of the season? What about teams that sit a “questionable” injured player when they are in the thick of a playoff hunt? You could argue, especially in the first very common scenario, that those teams are tanking the game.

Maybe the NFL needs a lottery draw for the #1 pick.

Take the bottom eight or ten teams and do a weighted chance lottery.

Was it reported the Miami owner said he would pay him 100k for every loss? A buddy told me that but not had time to look it up.

I guess all those NFL billionaire owners who sucked up to BLM and kneeling for the flag were really just pretending? Please say it ain’t so. I may lose all respect for billionaires.
