That I can see. But not Pruitt's removal.

We're gonna fire his asparagus arse for cause!

In the long run firing all the coaches and paying the buyouts would have been the way to go, and why wait until mid January? Why not start the witch hunt 2 months earlier?

They started the hunt in November. Finally found the dirt to finish the job 2 months later.

That first pick 6 Geronimo threw to the Kats.

Didn’t he fire his DLine coach in the middle of a game this past year?

There are conflicting reports of when, but it was the Kentucky game.

Lol. They do not have to wait for the NCAA. Not how that works.

Seeing all the Bama fans white knight for Pruitt is something

None of us are "white knighting" for Pruitt. Bama fans all pretty much unanimously agree that he's dumber than a box of rocks. While we do think in general that it's pretty shitty for UT to try and get out of paying him anything, we mostly love the fact that it just makes it harder for Tennessee to hire anyone competent.

They fired Pruitt for lack of oversight. No one has accused him of cheating or involvement in cheating so far. It’s been the fact that staff he fired and was responsible for harmed the university and illegibility of its student athletes.

Maybe so... but tracking Pruitt’s career from High School, to Alabama, FSU, Ga, back to Alabama, you find a lot of pretty dodgy stuff, marginal recruits with zero character, and some really stupid personal decisions.
I would guess he took some marginal actions, acted like an arse to a lot of the wrong people, treated his players to a couple of shite shows, and impulsively fired coaches, shot off constantly and was generally insufferable.
One thing is certain... no one was defending him in the end. You have to do a lot of things wrong to alienate everyone.
This ^^

I love how the same people who have talked shite about Pruitt for 3 years are now painting Pruitt like an innocent victim in this firing deal. At the end of the day, the HC is responsible for what goes on with the staff and team. period. so, either he's a complete idiot who was alienated by everyone around him (likely), or he knew about it and was in on it (also likely). Whatever is about to happen can't be worse than what's been happening with the program for the past 10 years. We'll likely be irrelevant for years to come but I think most TN fans' spirits have been broken for years now, so what's the difference? Oh no, will we lose to GA State again?! Give me a break.

Doesn't matter. He thinks Tennessee revolves around him and UT seems to not know any better.

What’s been surprising to me, is the reports of Peyton Manning apparently attaching himself to this and being involved moving forward.
Manning has gone out of his way multiple times to destroy the career of the woman who dared to be upset he put his bare arse in her face. He's not exactly the super nice guy he has been able carefully craft himself to appear to be.

There is so much uninformed stupid in your reply. I don't really know where to start.
Let's go with the obvious.
1. Charlie Anderson has no child named "Keaton". He has four children. Chase, Michael, Hayley and Lauren.
2. Charlie Anderson played football at Tennessee and was three year letterman. He hates you inbred idiots like all UT people do. (I worked for him and know this to be true).
3. The 145,000-square-foot Anderson Training Center houses day-to-day operations for the Tennessee football program. Can your stupid Alabama arse guess why it is named the "ANDERSON" Training Center? See if that dull mind can make a lucky guess.
4. This is Charlie Anderson's 140' yacht parked outside Neyland Stadium. Can your room temperature IQ (cold room) figure out why the yacht is parked there?

Fulmer was your AD.
This rekes of Fulmer.
Gives Pruitt an extension and raise on 9/24/20.
Within 3 months, regrets it and tries to undo the damage with a private investigation.
How deep is your head in the sand?

Fulmer got his arse fired, dumbass. Fulmer was the only one fighting to keep Pruitt.

Of course simple Keller thinks upwards to $15 million in COVID times is "just a few million".
We have precedent of other programs using infraction loop holes to get rid of coaches for free, and Vol leadership remembers that.

It’s 12 million dumbass.
And the the difference in firing him this year vs next is 2 million. They’d inevitably have owed him 10 million to wait and fire him next year. I know that concept is hard for a smooth brain to understand.
