UT is rotten to the core. It couldn't be more obvious todays press conference was the first public strike of a long planned assassination attempt. It's obvious big pressure was brought to bear on the UT administration to find a reason to fire Pruitt for cause long before any recruiting violation investigation began. The plot was hatched in search of a crime to kneecap Pruitt.

I predict this shitty ambush will blow up the UT administration when details of who, how, and where the plot to assassinate Pruitt began collides with the lack of direct evidence against Pruitt in court. Both the legal court and the court of public opinion, which includes the coaching fraternity, will burn UT down when it sees how the crooked cogs were turned by rotten UT cretins.

I also predict the NCAA violations that actually come out and the resulting NCAA discipline will be minor - similar to the minor recruiting infractions & discipline that occur somewhat regularly at most SEC schools.

It wouldn’t happen any other way at UT.

What’s been surprising to me, is the reports of Peyton Manning apparently attaching himself to this and being involved moving forward.

Maybe so... but tracking Pruitt’s career from High School, to Alabama, FSU, Ga, back to Alabama, you find a lot of pretty dodgy stuff, marginal recruits with zero character, and some really stupid personal decisions.

I would guess he took some marginal actions, acted like an arse to a lot of the wrong people, treated his players to a couple of shite shows, and impulsively fired coaches, shot off constantly and was generally insufferable.

One thing is certain... no one was defending him in the end. You have to do a lot of things wrong to alienate everyone.

Who is the person actually orchestrating all this? Isn't that part of the problem? It seems like the AD and Coach at Tennessee are just treated like little more than pawns the past few years.

I agree Pruitt is a rough cob devoid of social sophistication BUT I don't believe he's a crook. Fighting this in court is a double edged sword for Pruitt. If UT wins big in court that further damages Pruitts future. Pruitt MUST win this legal fight to ever be trusted again. I don't think he would take it to court if there was absolute incriminating evidence out there. I didn't hear the UT Chancellor ever directly accuse Pruitt of anything other than being responsible for what everyone on his staff does regardless of whether he knew about it or not.

And make no mistake this is also about Pruitt's career at Alabama as a player and coach - by proxy an inference Pruitt learned his alleged "cheating ways" at Alabama.

Is there a subset of your fanbase who doesn’t believe bama cheats to get recruits?

Seriously. If anyone really believes that UT would put themselves in an NCAA investigation spotlight with multiple level 1 violations just to smear Pruitt and save a few million, you are fricking dumb as shite.

It didn’t work for Bill Battle before.

The administration and boosters fight for control and the mess they create hurts the program and more importantly, the players.

It’s like UT went broke and now are going woke. Until the boosters or the admin’s give, it’s gonna be a joke.

And Fulmer is a casualty of that smear campaign as well - leaving us with no AD and a coaching vacancy. Some fricking people.

He is small potatoes. That million he gave is chump change. The guy is worth $60 million.

Charlie Ergen - Founder owner of Dish Network
Min Kao - Co-founder of Garmin
Jim and Jimmy Haslam - Pilot
Charlie Anderson - Book A Million, TNT Fireworks, and other businesses
Allan Jones - Check Into Cash

The first three are worth billions. Jones is close to billionaire status. Anderson is worth hundreds of millions. Those are your money men at UT.

They are Alabama boosters. Keaton Anderson just finished his career at Bama.

I haven't read a word about Manning being involved in this, and I read every word I can find. So how about a link?

You may be right, but Manning didn't become a hot marketing spokesperson by being stupid.

As he should be. He hasn't lifted a finger to supervise Pruitt. His only activity so far appears to have been to show up at practice and run a few drills, which was pretty damn stupid.

Peyton has attached himself to the coaching search, but I don't think that's surprising.

This is like watching a train wreck. You know it's going to be bad, but you can't look away. Such a corrupt department under Fulmer.
