Fulmer was probably the one orchestrating the channeling of booster $s to recruits and their inner circles.

I feel confident that he has a surplus of Mickey D bags in his truck.

Who said it was a fake investigation?

It was a real investigation to remove a coach. Is Pruitt a liar?

Your boy DJ was implying so. But if the investigation was real and the findings genuine then the “it was done to avoid a buyout” stuff is absolutely stupid. Long term a public scandal costs the school more than 18,000,000(cost of all buyouts if paid in full).

I don’t think people understand the reason Pruitt was let go. It wasn’t that he was directly linked to cheating, it was was failing to control him staff that resulted in numerous level 1 violations that threatened the eligibility of student athletes. It’s pretty clearly delineated in his contract that a level I, level II, or enough level III to constitute a level I violation gets him fired with cause.

It allows him quickly go back to a DC role or no/limited oversight role without scandal after a short show cause.

Nah...

1. The investigation was real.

2. The violations are real
3. The motivation behind the investigation was real and beyond your level of comprehension.
4. It’s real that it blown up in your faces.

They aren’t mutually exclusive ideas like you illogically think.

To avoid harsher NCAA penalties? I fully comprehend that. I think what you don’t understand is that Tennessee isn’t afraid of paying a buyout. And it it could have just paid to avoid this mess they would have gladly done so. They currently have 1 assistant coach buyout coming out of the booster fund and would have zero issues adding a staff into it or negotiating down some of the buyouts if they just wanted the staff gone. Without the scandal they easily hire Freeze to replace Pruitt and see a revenue bump immediately.

But somehow in your limited pea brain you see this as international? Tennessee doesn’t want any of this, they don’t want to be in a coaching search. Best case scenario for everyone was for Pruitt to turn it around next year. Next best case was to fire him next year with a negotiated buyout. Worst case is an NCAA investigation that finds issues with basketball and baseball and harms all sports. This is likely a 2-3 post season ban and 12 ships over 3 years and 9 show cause orders before you look at the indirect impact. It’s the end of the world for a couple weeks and life goes on.

You're definitely mistaken about this guy. Anderson was on the UT Board of Trustees.

So he told you this? Hating ones own grandson and calling him an inbred because of his college choice is the most UT thing there is. You people are disgusting.

Hey fricktard, try to keep up. Dumbass #1 thinks we turned ourselves in to the NCAA to avoid paying a buyout, so no, in that scenario we wouldn’t have them if we didn’t “turn ourselves in”.

Try again. The Haslams were the only ones with both the ability and motive. They wanted Fulmer out and knew Fulmer was never going to be the one to hire the next coach. (Fulmer was temporary). However, the only way for them to take out Fulmer was to take out Pruitt and chain them together.

They burnt down the house so that they can have sole ownership. With Fulmer out there's not a faction strong enough to oppose them alone and there's not a figure strong enough to rally public support.

They don't give a damn about the program or winning. They just want to be in charge. That said, Pruitt is a Moron who deserved to be fired on his record alone. The fact that he was too dumb to cheat properly is his own damn fault not theirs. They took advantage of his stupidity but ultimately this is his own making.

The fact that Fulmer could pull off another coup and smoke the rather new AD in the process had to be a testament to how fragmented your BOT and University staff are. Haslams had to wait out Pruitt and Fulmer's incompetence, but the inmates are still running the asylum. They just keep taking turns on the hill.

Maybe so... but tracking Pruitt’s career from High School, to Alabama, FSU, Ga, back to Alabama, you find a lot of pretty dodgy stuff, marginal recruits with zero character, and some really stupid personal decisions.

I would guess he took some marginal actions, acted like an arse to a lot of the wrong people, treated his players to a couple of shite shows, and impulsively fired coaches, shot off constantly and was generally insufferable.

One thing is certain... no one was defending him in the end. You have to do a lot of things wrong to alienate everyone.

UT knew all of that when he was hired. Dude pissed off the wrong backers, probably with simply performing poorly but possibly that combined with his toxic personality. UGA dodged a similar situation with Jim Donnan. They all cheat but they have to play politics and keep the jock sniffing boosters happy.

After this is all over Pruitt will be acquitted of any wrongdoing and the UT administration & boosters will be exposed for their cheating ways - and Pruitt will get paid.

UT became rabid and went off the deep end to a place no SEC team has been before. It will take a decade or more for UT to find some level of decency after this debacle of Admin
& Booster deceit after losing 14 straight to Alabama.

UT deserves the real Show Cause penalty here. Pruitt is a great defensive coach and in the end that will come out while UT burns.

That wasn’t happening, and even most dumbass vols knew it, so what’s better? Pay way more than a few million or pay zero?
