We need to pad the low end of the conference……they do have a good QB maybe we could buy him…this would test their QBs against SEC defenses so we can see if they are worth an offer…..

With the 24 team playoff conferences are gone anyway….

Brother… if the SEC were to expand, it makes far more sense to make a play for programs in states that are categorically in the southeastern region. Any “pros” for getting OkieLite are also shared by UNC, UVA, Clemson. The OK media market is already skewed to OU. The pokes don’t offer the conference anything that either the SEC already has, or could easily get from much more appealing programs

I vote yes, they have stout wrestling and cross county programs.

No we don't. But even if we wanted to, there are several programs right smack in the SEC footprint that bring a hell of a lot more.

This is not an explicitly done deal as of this post, as far as I'm aware. Even so, Oklahoma State makes no difference to that equation. Somebody from the SEC is going to make the playoffs, and probably several somebodies from the SEC are in it, no matter what their record, pretty much every year. You already know why.

The only teams I “want” for the SEC are Clemson and Florida State.

Okie State is on the list of teams that I would “accept”, but they’re near the bottom of that list.

Acceptable teams (favorite to least favorite)
Miami
West Virginia
Virginia Tech
Tulane
Georgia Tech
North Carolina
NC State
Louisville
Duke
UVA
Memphis
Oklahoma State
Arizona State
Wake Forest
Baylor
TCU
SMU
Maryland

FYI, if they weren’t already in the SEC, Arkansas would rank below Miami, Texas/A&M would both be below V-Tech, Oklahoma somewhere around NC State, and Mizzou behind Memphis.

Okie State, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Colorado State should start a prairie ag conference.

Eastern expansion seems much more likely. Virginia and Virginia Tech would be my guesses.

There is zero reason to add Tulane unless the goal is to weaken LSU.

I like tradition, and I miss playing them every year. So much of LSU’s identity was formed by that rivalry, and it was thrown to the curb.

I’d invite Tulane before Okie Light.

No to Okie State.

HELL NO to FSU/Clemson/GA Tech.

The ONLY schools that interest me are UNC and UVA.

If there were four teams to pick from that list to get to 20 SEC teams, I would choose
Tulane
Georgia Tech
Virginia Tech
North Carolina

If you're talking about "trading" teams, then I would trade Oklahoma for SMU or TCU since they would be in a recruiting hotbed and still reach the media markets of Oklahoma.

I've always had a soft spot for Ok State. Chill rural town and good people.

I love their football and basketball stadiums. Both are right on top of the field.
