Should SEC extend offers immediately

Should SEC immediately extend offers to three schools to reach 19 under the PCSA . With new Media contract coming I believe by 2030 or 31, now seems like the time to lock up new members.
Should SEC help Fl St, and Clemson buy out its contract with ACC?
Would you want Texas Tech? Very passionate fans and SEC like school.
Should SMU be added? They are probably the richest school in Texas. With huge fan base and lots of eyeballs in Dallas.
I’d like Clemson but not Miami. Fl St is pure SEC like Clemson.
North Carolina, Virginia schools don’t add any passionate fan bases.
Thoughts?

You just looking at football fans or are you considering the schools other sports?

FSU is a no brainer, but there are some people in Gainesville that might not like it.
Not sure SoCar would be keen on Clemson either.

Maybe not Tulane. You could make a case for Louisville before Tulane. If I were Kentucky, I would want Louisville taking an SEC game every week like I do.

Good point. I agree, recruiting does not matter as much. In the future, it’s going to be identifying portal talent and securing at level you can afford.

So glad Texas in the conference but it’s seems many of you Texas fans don’t want the SEC title game. I was at the first game with Florida in 1992. I’m one of those who values that game. I would not want to see it go.

No matter how many years of realignment talk we have, this board is STILL overrun with morons who will not understand what expansion is based upon. You have to add teams that grow the payouts to the existing members.
These teams do not grow the pie enough: SMU, Tulane, GT, Tech, Louisville, Memphis, Virginia, Miami, any other Big 12 schools, NC State, probably VT.
The only schools that might grow the pie enough are NC and FSU.
Clemson is a borderline prospect. They are a good candidate as a stand alone prospect but the SEC already messed up and added SC. Thats a small market for two schools to split. We should have had Clemson instead of SC.

The bill effectively precludes P4 conferences from taking another P4 conference's member(s). If a school wants to leave the ACC and join the SEC, they must first spend five years as an independent. No ACC program can afford that. The 19 number really does appear to have been a little token so that the B1G can pine over finally landing ND some day, as the five-year rule does not appear to have any bearing on them.
I think this was weak negotiating by the SEC. Why concede that slot to the B1G when your own three slots are illusory? It basically leaves G6 and independent schools as options, and no others.
The broader signal is becoming clear: neither the B1G or SEC have any real appetite for further expansion. The one exception is the B1G will always hold out hope for ND.
Edit: It is probably too late to make a quick expansion move before the Bill becomes law. ACC members are locked in for the year already - the deadline to leave passed. Maybe they could try announcing a departure for a future date before the bill comes law in an effort to circumvent it, but that sounds like some expensive litigation.

Texas Tech is not a serious option. They bring virtually nothing to a conference and the only reason they are "winning" now is because they are the biggest fish in a very small pond. We saw how competitive they actually were in the playoffs.
They never won the Big XII Championship in football while Texas and Oklahoma were in the conference. They were co-champs of the Big XII South division once under Leach but never played in the championship game. They won the SWC twice in almost 40 years and never as outright champions.

My question was should we add now before bill passes if that’s feasible? As I understand bill, you must wait 5 years as an independent before being accepted into another conference. That’s completely absurd to me.

If we expand, these are the two teams I’d want for the history and traditional rivalries
The 2 schools that add the most value are UNC and Virginia
