It's way worse than that.
He was lying under oath because the actual language of the rule doesn't hold up to scrutiny when being applied to the SEC rule.
He's trying to railroad a bunch of players and a member school by obfuscating and lying.
He also said this isn't about professionals or not.
He also said he didn't know what a professional was.
If there's a single trait a commissioner should have, it should be fairness.
The SEC has fallen behind and it's pretty easy to see why.

He’s more of a figurehead. Seems pretty likely that several schools demanded that the league office step in.
My opinion is the SEC felt like they had to act quickly after the Big 10 came out with their rules, like the day before.

This. Chambliss is ineligible, but playing because of a court order. SEC throws their hands up.
Now all of a sudden Sankey is all out against LSU doing the same (albeit under a different rule that is being ignored).
Once they turned a blind eye to the Chambliss ordeal, it was a wrap.

I say this for all SEC teams as we’re in this together. Greg Sankey is too incompetent to hold a position that is this important for all the great teams that are in this conference. He is certainly no Mike Slive.

I really dont understand how the sec fans arent on the side of lsu here when ot comes to the sec vs lsu . we give each other shite buy the matchups and shite talking are what makes this place great . I would never want anyone removed from the conference. I want everyone to get the available players . this one year isnt going to destroy anything.
