I remember when Spurrier was at South Carolina and went off on one reporter and then invited all the other media besides that reporter to another room for questions.
Just vaguely remember it but it gave me a laugh at the time.

Beamer does come across as hyper sensitive, but he's also not wrong in that the press is lazy AF when it comes to their narratives. They're not mutually exclusive.

Beamer's move yesterday was directly out of Spurrier's playbook. Here's the presser where he went off on Ron Morris. Notice the similarities.

I'm not a huge fan of the OC hire to be honest, but the way that some of our fans melted down is hilarious. Especially when a large percentage of them don't go to games or contribute anything to the University. Purely "TV" fans of the Gamecocks. All we can do is support the new hire at this point, no point in being negative.

I only listened to the clip you provided. He directed it at one guy in the press but he seems to be addressing fans in a veiled manor.

Good on him for sticking up for his guy. All of those guys vouching for him is great Shane but the hard stats that he’s putting up aren’t exactly stellar. And that’s the only thing that really matters

I like Beamer and think he is just what South Carolina needed.
