re: Serious question: What grade would you give Lane Kiffin for the job he did at Ole Miss?

He was getting that type of money regardless.

My thing about that '24 team: UK loss was unacceptable. Awful game
He bungled the season by refusing to play Ulysses Bentley.
The Kentucky game was especially egregious. Quite a tale on that one.

LSU was Ole Miss until Saban came to BR. Lane made them a contender and I think Pete along as he can get a QB can keep them competitive

4 months ago, no one outside of Oxford thought he was an elite coach. Most wouldn't have even called him great. People just thought he was entertaining and most had come around to thinking he was likeable.
Then 2 high profile jobs came open and not a single other decent coach in the country was shitty enough to entertain leaving their teams so the media had to spin up this narrative of him being a game changer for someone so they'd have something BIG to talk about.
He's a great coach. He had great chemistry at Ole Miss that he probably won't replicate again. Sucks for us. Sucks worse for him. Sucks most for LSU.

Lol…if that makes you feel better…bless your heart. Nobody else believes it.

I give Lane an A
I'd give him an A+ had he found a way to go 10-2 and made the playoff in 2024 but unfortunately that didn't happen.
He did an outstanding job.

He gets an A from me. I echo what a lot of people have said in that the 2024 season was a disappointment - that loss to Kentucky at home still stings to this day. He made up for it this past season with the 11-1 record, but the fact that we had a top 2 scoring defense and top 3 scoring offense and couldn't make the playoffs in 2024 is criminal

Just going off of information that has been reported by those in the know
I'm sure you believe your personal conspiracy theories have more merit.

I think an A- is generous for a coach that has never won at any level.

It was widely reported-
From AI Overview:
“In late 2025, Lane Kiffin was at the center of a major coaching search, with reports indicating that LSU, Florida, and Ole Miss all offered him contract packages that were "comparable" or "nearly identical" in terms of annual salary, while differing in NIL”

LMAO. So a guy who has publicly admitted he never attended or graduated (I’m a sidewalk fan) from LSU is going off information from a friend of a friend reported by those “in the know.” Any info I post is easily verifiable from multiple sources. Talk about lacking education and nebulous theories, dude you need help. But you are humorous . Lol

No, I'm going off what multiple college football reporters have written and said. Notice, between the two of us, I'm the only one who has actually posted any outside information.
Meanwhile, you're going off of your own hurt feelings.
You're welcome to "prove me wrong" by posting this "easily verifiable information."
But we both know you can't.

He's just another upset Bama fan. Probably not worth your time.

Oh. Well, same difference.

Like a ‘sorry for partying’ college kid, Kiffin earned a W at Ole Miss - withdrew after the drop date, before finals.

LSU fans are hypocrites. You talk like a coach is garbage if they haven’t won a NC, and then you hire one and think he is unbeatable. Cannot have it both ways. On the LSU scale he isn’t even a B
You just described every fanbase in all parts of the world. Almost like no fanbases think exactly alike. Who would have thunk it.

Definitely an A. Would have been higher with SEC title or playoff win. Kiffin is top shelf.
