I've heard of a few different things. One interesting one is players or their families receiving gym bags with large amounts of casino chips.

That's how it works, ways like that. The Coaches "don't want to know about" so they can deny it happens. Happens at all major schools. They recruit from the same talent pool, most of the kids aren't well off, and they'll go where they can get money. Prepping for the NFL, playing for Titles, etc. also has a lot to do with it. But the bigger names, they'll get paid one way or another.

I've always wondered about this. Everyone says they do, but I think that would be such a hard thing to cover up. Do you think the major programs today pay their players?

$100 handshakes
Cash from boosters
Church donations
Inexplicable casino winnings

There are many way to pay without getting caught. When you start paying 100's of thousands at a time then it starts getting obvious. Not saying every school does it, but it happens everywhere.

I bet Collins GF is getting paid much more than she is "earning" or at the least gets bonuses that others who do her job aren't getting.

Hell, tasmin Mitchell's uncle worked for lsu. He got a big Christmas bonus and turned around and got an escalade for tasmin with the Christmas bonus. It happens EVERYWHERE.

Every. Single. School.

Your school. My school. Her school. Even the not so cool school.

Look, if fans were handing out $100 at Mississippi Stateback in the 80's and 90's, then it happens everywhere.

A fool and his money.

I'd say more coaches and family friends get paid to steer kids to a school. The remaining ones are paid. Again not saying every kid or every program but a lot more than people think.

I would say this is definitely true. Bama was put on probation for their $180k payment to Means coaches and associates. And if you think that is the only player they did that with, lol. I believe that is what happened with Cyrus K when he committed to AU on signing day but his coaches refused to fax in the paperwork. Also Dee Hart whose HS coaches contacted bama when Dee told the AU coaches he was going to flip.

I personally witnessed $100 handshakes during bowl seasons to a current LSU player. Not saying who. But how you going regulate that?

Yes, I do believe that AU didn't buy Cam. AU didn't know Cam was THAT good. Cecil couldn't get the money at MSU, but he took the remaining offers and picked the best supporting cast for his son. Any proof otherwise?

Most AU fans certainly had some doubt during that year, and if ANYTHING, even something small (besides bammer rumors) had been uncovered, I would believe it happened.

Could your school host the NCAA for 13 months digging like mad and come out with not even a secondary violation? It hasn't yet. Of course, bammer gets a pass when the NCAA doesn't even investigate the infractions reported.

Jim Tressell called up a car dealership and said hook Maurice Clarrett up with a car. Do you consider this getting paid?

So when the NCAA is sent numerous pictures that show a booster giving bammer players extra benefits, that's just swept under the rug. It's a violation for a business to profit from current players, and there are pictures to prove that happened.

Call it paranoia or call it just wanting everyone to be treated the same way. Thirteen months of investigation for AU and not one shred of proof - just internet rumors.

Picture proof of bammer violations and not one visit from the NCAA (that we know of).

So if your rival school makes up rumors and brings the NCAA to investigate - and they do and find nothing - what would be your reaction?

I'm sure you would say, "Oh, the NCAA must have made a mistake. I think they should come back for another year and dig some more. There must be something. Everyone says so."

And I'm sure you would NOT be bitter about the false allegations from your rival either.

Current players with their signed jerseys displayed in the menswear window. Pictures of current players signing literally boxes of jerseys and gloves. Anyone with a brain turned that in. A booster with hundreds of pictures with numerous players, cars, suits. Julio wearing a different suit to 18 games. If the NCAA had investigated, you know there would have been something uncovered.

If something comes out about Cam later and is proven, then and only then will I accept it.

I notice that bammers don't say something probably went on with albetar - they categorically deny it. Yet AU is not allowed to deny rumors.

If your university is not paying the players then you are not competing.
