Notre Dame, arguably the most iconic name in all of college football, has won 11 national titles.
What SEC teams have played and defeated Notre Dame in a game for the national championship?
1. Georgia (1980: 17-10)
2. Alabama (2012: 42-14)
Are there any more?
Didn't think so.

Notre Dame has 10 more national championships to its name than UGA. I’m sure they would all upset at your stupid thread.

Most before the SEC was formed.
Most often back then Notre Dame was playing B1G and PAC schools.

Irish scared to play the SEC, especially at SEC home venues

This thread reminded me UGA hasn’t won a national title since 1980

LSU has played Notre Dame 12 times, all since 1970. I do not know for sure, but with that number 12, it could be that LSU is the SEC team ND has played the most.

As you said... half the conference has either not played them at all or not played them as an SEC member.
So beating them for a natty would be difficult given that.
