The SEC was a lot less prepared in this hearing that I assumed they would be. How can you not even define "amateurism"?

Sankey and the SEC are acting emotionally. It’s honestly sad how unprofessionally they’re dealing with this situation. And as you said… the commissioner of a 17 billion dollar organization swore under oath he doesn’t know what a “professional player” is. Unreal.

It’s very simple.
1. NCAA fricked up vis a vis 2022 class and created this mess
2. Players with reason sued them.
3. NCAA member colleges took advantage.
4. Power conferences took advantage seeing opportunity to establish power and prestige over the NCAA in order to weaken the NCAA and establish themselves as a replacement with ultimate authority over collegiate athletics.
If they have to screw over a conference member in their flexing-they will and are.
The solution:
NCAA admits full blame and responsibility. Mea Culpa! We apologize and waive all restrictions on a fifth year to the class of 2022. Limited to them and them only. And we are instructing all member schools and conferences to comply with appropriate penalties applicable. We are reimbursing the players’s legal fees to date and declare the matter settled.
1. Everyone admires a contrite admission of responsibility with restitution.
2. Good PR optics for NCAA.
3. Cut the legs out from underneath the power conferences and reestablish NCAA authority.
Simple.
I am not a fan of the imbecilic NCAA. It’s their best option and it puts out a fire that’s becoming out of control.

The SEC is sitting at a poker table bluffing and doing their best to save face. They think if they scream loud enough, they will get LSU to back off so they can poke their chest out.
LSU isn’t because LSU hasn’t broken a single rule.
The SEC’s lawsuit is as well thought out as Sankey’s testimony today. It’s embarrassing to know the leadership we have for this conference, but it makes sense seeing how the league has been run for years.

I'm not a lawyer, I'm watching it play out like everyone else. And I'm not even remotely familiar with the Mizzou case.
But I'm telling you a player suing the NCAA doesn't just get to pick whatever team he wants and that team has to allow him.

That’s exactly what they can do when they are ruling on a confusing arse NCAA eligibility rule.
Shouting “comply” means nothing when compliance is being demanded by people that cannot define neither professional athlete or amateurism.
