gotta think they are just hedging their bets against an expanded playoff or something
I've seen people on other boards speculate the same thing, but it still doesn't make logistical sense to me. Let's say it's an 8 team playoff by that time. Winning your converence is still going to be priority 1 every year wtihout question. So obviously with more teams in the mix you want to have a feather in your cap, so sure schedule a tough game. But we are scheduling 2 BIG TIME games in the same season, to go along with an SEC schedule. I'd be fine with 1 tough one by itself per year. Or a tough one in a season opener kickoff classic. Or a tough one and a minor one with name appeal like an NC State or something. But there's zero reason whatsoever ot play a combo of Clemson/Texas/FSU in the same season.

I'm going to Happy Valley for the Penn St game. Should be a great trip.

LSU has home and homes with Texas, UCLA, Clemson, and Oklahoma. That is impressive.
A couple programs pop up in at least 3 H&Hs
- Texas (LSU, Bama, UGA, Florida)
- Oklahoma (LSU, Bama, Tennessee, UGA)
- Colorado (Mizzou, Texas A&M, Florida)
- UCLA (LSU, UGA, Auburn)
- Arizona St (Miss St, Texas A&M, LSU)
- Notre Dame (Arkansas, Bama, Texas A&M)
Pretty cool to see Texas, Oklahoma and Notre Dame vs the top SEC teams so often. That's fun.

Yeah.
Expanded playoff actually does the opposite.
It allows weaker schedule teams with fewer losses to get into the mix.
Scheduling tougher and adding a loss (or 2 due to player attrition) to the season is going the opposite direction. It isn't hanging around the top 8 when other teams don't have that extra loss.

The only one that looks like it might match up is Nebraska, which would be awesome.
Unfortunately their agreements with the Pac 12 may prevent them from adding a second big OOC game to the schedule.

Yep, outside of them the reasonable options are pretty bare. Not sure what they're gonna do.

right, you're just adding another chance at a loss for no reason.
My whole thing that I've trumpeted for years is...we haven't gone undefeated in SEC play since 1982. Until we get to a bama-like level where we are going undefeated in conference reguarly, it doesn't make sense to add a potential loss when the odds are fairly solid we're alrady going to have 1 somehwere along the way anyway.

this is the one of the most depressing posts on the rant yet. I feel young wild and free(sorta) for some of these, and further along I see myself miserable with a few crying kids wishing I was at these games and not at home

Ole Miss @ GT should be in the Benz.

The Ark/Tex game in 2021 is also part of a H&H series. We played in Austin in 2008 and the 2021 game is in Fayetteville.

Damn... I thought we were having to wait a long time for the return game from Oklahoma...

That game has been moved back repeatedly, at the request of both teams. I think we even requested it moved, so another team could cancel on us. Probably tOSU or Michigan.

Agree. AZ, MN will be good road trips for the fans.
Even TT, NCST will be okay as well.
Also agree that State is playing reasonable teams that are generally on our level. Games should be competitive

I can't imagine playing @ UGA, @ Clemson and Bama all in the same year. That's just insane!

Gotcha. Yeah, I know we had tOSU cancel on us previously as well (would have been for 2020/2021)... Their excuse was a Pac12 series that was going to get scheduled (but did not).
