Get 20 teams.

Split into SEC originals and SEC expansion.

Play 9 games and a championship game.

And neither of those teams played in the SEC. Miami didn’t even make the ACC Champ game yet they made the Natty, but the SEC is supposedly better. I do believe the SEC is the bspest conference top to bottom but I also think the BIG and ACC are a half step behind while so many of you still believe the distance is vast. And when I point out how FSU beat Bama y’all go silent but if Arkansas were to beat Bama you’d be screaming how tough the SEC is. Miami didn’t even make our title game yet was a couple plays away from the Natty while your top 5 teams were all sitting at home.

It’s just to funny.

You know what's really to funny? A lifeless Georgia Tech fan that hangs out talking football on an SEC forum all the time. I can think of about 8000 things I would rather do with my time that get on an ACC forum and talk to fans of ACC teams (especially GT fans) about freakin ANYTHING! That would rank just above going to the Urologist for a prostate exam on the things I enjoy doing with my precious time. Good grief dude...

Your best chance of a schedule like that is if we go to 20 and treat it as basically 2 conferences.

As a fellow Georgia Tech nerd and beta male, I agree with everything you just said. Even though we can only get laid when we pay for it, at least we're smarter than everyone else.

For a true college
Football fan, we should rewind the clock to about 1970. Have regional conferences, mythical nc, and exciting bowl games pitting f the very best teams v the other very best teams. Every game was exciting because it was v a regional conferences rivalry built over a period of years. This is not a knock at any sec school…I bet the true college
Football fan at any school wishes that could happen.

Did you not see a low level ACC team
yes - Duke - saw them win the 2025 ACC CG over ...historical football ACC doormat Virginia

there were 2 ACC teams that finished with 10+ wins -

there were 7 SEC teams that finished with 10+ wins -

playoff c$mmittee reneged on their pledge to reward SOS last season - there's absolutely no reason to believe they'll change course in an expanded playoff in the future -

9 game SEC schedule should only occur if ESPN/Disney is willing to increase TV revenue for added conference inventory for football - not as a part of the equation for CFP expansion -

and no complaints

I went looking for Allen Greene's comments when the DSOR moved to September...you're right. Zero complaints about Auburn playing both teams, just complaints about playing them both in November (which is completely understandable).

Step it up Tex

FCS/D-II/D-III are true college football, too, and have all had playoff systems; so, bowls aren't the measure.

I would like to see smaller, regional conferences with every team in the conference playing every other team thus producing a true champ. Each champ would advance to the playoffs.

Hey guys what’s yall take on this. I think with the SEC going to 9 games is great and adding that non con P4 requirement is more so a chess move
Actually it was a checkers move. The SEC should have used the 9th game as a bargaining chip for more money from its television partner.

Pulling our receiver down in the endzone on the winning TD is a drubbing?

Exactly I’ve mentioned it in an older post that the B1G went to 9 games to give out the perception that schedules really tough when in actuality those lower tier teams ain’t no where near the top teams level. It’s easier to beat up on those teams rather than staying at 8 having to play possibly 2 P4 opponents sometimes. So with the SEC making the P4 requirement that put pressure on the B1G to do the same, i think that could be one of reasons they pushing so hard for the 24 playoff. But the way the B1G did their schedules the is year don’t be surprised if one of their top teams have 3 losses or possibly 4.

I asked B1G fans when the last time one of their teams that went 1-8 conference play went on the road and had one of their top teams 31-3 at the half. Not one reply. It’s all crickets

Think about it the B1G ain’t about to sit back and not add that P4 requirement, which means their schedules will get tougher. Indiana doesn’t play a non con P4 opponent til 2030. Ohio State will never, one thing I’ll give them that they’re not afraid of competition, win or lose.

So why do they lose playoff games and bowl games? The SEC today is completely overrated. I wouldn’t have said that 5 years ago but the portal has decimated the SEC and the playoffs lately have proved that. No one is scared to play the SEC. You have the same number of teams capable of winning the Natty this year as the ACC - 1, UGA. No other team has a defense that will advance in the tourney. Texas and others can score but they can’t stop anyone.
