The SEC included the Governor as a defendant. Did they not expect the Attorney General to seek a dismissal? This isn't about football. This is about Tennessee and Georgia being pissed off that LSU was ahead of the game when it came to private equity.

They just need to throw them out already. It's clear they have no interest in playing even by the loosest of rules that the conference sets. Let LSU go and they can do whatever they want to as an independent. Win win for everyone.

The SEC can't name the school or the state as a defendant so they have to go after officials directly.
I'm surprised to see the SEC issue such a statement today because Louisiana's Senators hold the ultimate veto since the SEC cares so much about their Protect College Sports Act. Conference is going to have to choose. Either they can get that legislation passed or they can go after LSU. They can't do both and they know it.
Finebaum spouts a lot of emotional nonsense and clearly is all ate up with Kiffin but he did correctly observe that the real power in this negotiation lies with Senator Kennedy.
Odds are good the suit will get thrown out, either now or down the road on appeal. This is all just grandstanding.

I'm sure LSU and the state of LA are deeply disappointed the SEC didn't file their own to dismiss after LSU didn't roster the players and lowered the temperature.
