Sankey comes across as a dummy. Especially after reading his testimony on the stand and then reviewing his recent leadership decisions.

You just can't allow yourself to be unprepared on the stand when explaining the conference's policies and rationales. You also can't get played so badly by both the networks and your major competition when it comes to scheduling.

Slive was always prepared. Always manuevered schedules for the interest of the conference. He blazed the way with the television deals. And he never came across as petty.

None of that is true of Sankey. I'll take it back if he levels the schedules and creates a stable leadership environment with a positive forward vision. All he's shown lately is he is capable of getting outflanked and embarrassed.

The SEC can do whatever it wants, but the reality is as follows

ESPN paid the SEC for a TV contract that includes LSU

Each school will lose ESPN money if it kicks LSU out

The SEC will pay damages to every athlete that has a lawful court order stating he/she can play but it didn’t allow them to play

Any school involved with colluding with the SEC on the above likely also has exposure as well

Any discipline of LSU and/or its coach will prompt a suit by LSU or LSU to leave

There are three conferences who would pay handsomely to have a footprint in the middle of the SEC territory.

Coach LK and LSU did not do anything in violation of SEC rules. Fact. This is about a few schools who got their panties in a wad over media articles that contained false narratives. Then Sankey showed is arse on the stand bursting he couldn’t define a professional athlete, that he had not read the NCAA rules prior to taking the stand, and under the NCAA rules all of the athletes were eligible. SEC is trying to exert power to save face. Nothing more at this point

the SEC personally sues a state official. Said state official files a responsive pleading to the lawsuit. Your conclusion: LOIC.

It's almost like a 12(b) motion to dismiss has to be filed within 21 days of service and this 12(b) motion to dismiss was filed on day 21. Weird

But yeah, the lawyers representing the various parties should have exposed themselves to a malpractice lawsuit to avoid hurting Sankey's feelings.

LSU will probably be kicked out for refusing to punish Lane Kiffen. . If you have to talk for two weeks about a resolution …. it’s deeper than most LSU fans want to believe . I stand by my previous post of saying Kiffen will be suspended and fined at some point. .If that does not happen LSU won’t be in a conference next year .LSU doesn’t hold any power . They think they can blackball the sec into forcing them to do whatever they want …. it’s not going to work out well for LSU they are going to find out the hard way I am afraid

It's interesting that you folks desperately want the conference to punish Lane Kiffin for......reasons.

He certainly didn't break any rules.

Did he hurt your feelings?

The SEC seems offended that LSU responded to a lawsuit with the standard legal response to a lawsuit. That’s like complaining that someone brought a glove to a baseball game. SEC uses legal finagling to sidestep prohibitions to file a lawsuit against a member. A suit that most legal experts agree has little likelihood of success. Now, the SEC cries about the defendants motion to dismiss. This motion to dismiss is a routine first response in civil litigation, especially when the defendants believe the plaintiff lacks jurisdiction, standing, a live controversy, proper venue, or a legally valid claim, this is common and strategically sensible. the conference says the filing came while the parties were negotiating a possible resolution, this is also an infantile response. If dismissal is the most likely outcome, a legal team would be remiss not to file. LSU files a routine first response to a suit that was brought by novel and probably illegitimate means. Remember, the suit is about damages the SEC may suffer if LSU does something LSU has announced it does not intend to do.

Mothafricking this.

The SEC filed a lawsuit… and is upset when LSU has the gall to defend themselves with fairly standard pleadings. Honestly frick the SEC. Bitches of the whiniest order, along with anyone who supports them.

All of college football name calling used to amount to throwing stones from glass houses. Now that the money is in the open the traditional accusations of cheating like Chargers at Alabama seem quaint.
