I guess all the prognosticators saying the conference was the best, deserved 8 bids, etc. look pretty foolish. With the way KY and TN have performed the past few tournaments, it could get pretty ugly before the night is done.

Common themes: soft especially on defense, weak on the glass…limited ability to score in the post.

This conference will never be consistently as good in basketball as the ACC, Big Ten & Big Twelve are until they start putting more resources into the sport. Hire better coaches and improve the facilities and generally speaking, quit treating basketball like a step child.

I often read where SEC schools "just aren't basketball schools".......That's garbage. This conference can be good at any sport it wants. They've proven that. They don't try hard enough. Look at the coaches in the SEC. Very few if any of them would be hired by a contender in the three above conferences that I named.

Just watching the product on the floor, SEC has athletic teams but not good basketball teams. For whatever reason, SEC basketball is a hard watch. Officiating, players adapting to style of play, lesser coaches … I don’t know. It’s just harder to watch in season compared to other conferences.

I knew we would do this when Sir Charles started talking us up big in the pregame show.

We regularly swapped games in the sec playing d or low post, so today wasn't a shock, just a huge disappointment.

But has wholeheartedly invested in just football the past 2 decades because of their fans appetite and that's where the money is.

CBS 'produces' this made-for-tv tournament - including matchups - that's why the committee always sounds ignorant explaining away their 'seedings' after the reveal

Michigan State was tucked in as a 9 to wreck the 1 in the 2nd round -

Oregon way under-seeded based on their talent that was injured for most of the season - Cousnard won't score double digits on Saturday - it's his M.O for his career - but he did today -

Duquesne the only true upset so far -

Of course the SEC sucks, LSU won enough conference games to get an NIT bid

That fact alone should’ve scared everyone here

But I thought you guys resting up for the big dance by sitting out the sect was gonna pay off in spades. Oh well. I guess the heart of Dixie will have to step up and carry the league.

Don't expect it from us. Our D is worse than UKs. I hope I'm wrong, and maybe having our guys finally healthy for the first time in over a month makes a difference, but it's tough to be optimistic after the past few weeks.
