I’d rather go back to 10.

We lost divisions, historic rivalries, a sense that games mattered, added Texas and Oklahoma, which felt meaningless, and the whole quality of the SEC felt depleted.

Divisions ruined a lot of historic rivalries 30 years ago...so I just see this as another iteration of that change.

I’d rather us go back to 12 teams and let the old Big 12 be competitive again.

Same...except go back to 10, and let the SWC & Big 8 be competitive again.

Hyperbole much?

What it was, was inevitable.

Change or die bro. It was going to happen all over the country. You're either out on front of it, or you get left behind with the fricking scraps.

Mizzou doesn't fit?

What you really mean is now that NIL is out there leveling the playing field, the past cheaters can't cheat as easily. No Mizzou fan really cares what you backward wal mart shoppers think....

We lost Mississippi state. Great game every year and that is saddening

No, I mean Mizzou doesn't fit.

Texas, OU, and aTm don't either.

Replace Mizz. with, say, NC. Still a "no fit"?

While NC fits, the numbers are still way too unwieldy.

My preference would be a rule limiting conferences to 10 teams and mandating that each team in a conference play each other.

It's weird people conflate mediocre football with significantly reduced stakes quality entertainment

But you should see that Mizzou has been ranked the last two years in college football. Why not get rid of those who are dead weight in football? There you go! You make a lot of sense!

You could rattle off three straight national championships, and you still wouldn't fit.

BAMA played Tennesseee, the Barn, and LSU, which of our rivalries were lost exactly?

Addressing the rest of your drivel would be fruitless and meaningless.

Maybe do something about your constant bouts of depression, but that's a much different discussion.

I don't want to fit in and I'd rather Texas not be in the SEC, but so far, it's been a fun ride.

And a hell of a season for all those who got to watch the SEC on ESPN/ABC. Easily the greatest show on turf.

Bad fits are teams that continue traveling these here broad United States over and over just to watch their favorite baseball/gymnastics/basketball/volleyball/football/etc play a common game while setting their alarm clocks forward and backward 3 hours for the pleasure.

I want no part of that fit.

NIL doesn't level the playing field as you will find out in the
coming years , unless some real changes are made.
But I think what really disturbed Saban was the raised potential
for one and done , not being able to keep a roster together
and develop players.

If you wish to believe the GOAT feared a level playing field , go for it.

Roster volatility was the main reason he bailed. Sure, it bothered him all players cared about was the money. But ultimately it was not being able to keep a stable roster intact that he didn't want to deal with each year. The "two windows of free agency" is what he's called it when he discusses it. I don't blame him, it has to be a huge distracting having to continue to recruit the players you've already recruited one time. It never ends.

South Carolina/ Missouri has been fun since 2012.

Please get rid of this silly Arkansas/Missouri scheduling.

Missouri games have been a blast. The only issue is the distance between the two schools. It makes way more sense to play UGA or Florida or Tenn consistently for SC.

Arkansas fans despise the Missouri match up for some reason. I don't get it. Missouri fans are a lot of fun.
