I would have thought Michigan and Ohio State would be higher. Their numbers will go up after this weekend, I suspect, but still they are both lower than I would have thought. Same goes for ND.

Do you realize that this is for ranking all 120 teams?

Me too, but perhaps SEC teams have more big brand matchups during the regular season. And SEC fans may watch more in conference SEC games, even when their team is not playing…

It costs 10x to watch Aggies on TV over other SEC teams? I thought Aggies were good at math.

How are people able to get themselves to watch FSU? Friggin masochists.
That would be us Bama fans. Birmingham is always the 3rd biggest market for almost any college football game outside of the 2 that are playing. It’s why Bama has the greatest college football team in history…it just means more to SEC teams, but it means the most to us…and it’s not close.

No doubt about this. The B1G seems to always backload their matchups. You will trypically see OSU, Michigan and Penn State play each other later in the season, so they typically are higher ranked built on wins against bad teams. AS A WHOLE. This year they did have OSU/Texas and Oregon/Indiana about half way through the season...other than those two I don't recall any games I thought were "Must see" games. USC has slipped in and had a pretty decent year this year, though.
Michigan has played two good teams (Oklahoma and USC) and lost to both of them, so they are suspect, at best. it will surprise me if OSU doesn't completely truck them, but Michigan seems to do well against them usually.
ETA
I realize this is a thread about most watched teams, but typically the most watched teams are good teams that play difficult schedules. Texas A&M is an anomaly, but that's because this is not a typically year for them. If they continue to put a good product on the field, their viewership will probably go up.

Ohio State hasn't exactly proven themselves against any world beaters thus far this season. The only team they have beaten this year that is currently ranked in the Top 25 was Texas and that was an ugly win at home.

Funny you say that because Texas plays Tennessee next year in Knoxville. I just know that will be toxic matchup between the fan bases.

Ruth's Chris has played 7 of the bottom 8 steakhouses in the Steak Eating Conference

6 primetime games + I believe your game with VT was the only game on that day.

Yeah. For sure the SEC just has more eyes. Big10 but for a few times a year when the big names play each other, is just not exciting at all.

Yeah, matchups makes a lot of sense.

I remember Ohio State and Texas played a regular season game some years back and more TVs tuned in to watch the game in Birmingham than in either Columbus or Austin. Bama fans be like:

Keep in mind that this doesn’t include SECN viewers

Since aggy have no “t-shirt fans”, no one wants to watch. They only draw tv numbers when they play a brand with “t-shirt fans”. I’m guessing ?

Ohio State’s abhorrent schedule is why they are so low. Could you imagine having to watch that week after week?
I know they can’t help PSU falling off a cliff but it’s only interesting to OSU fans.

Texas A&M is below Vandy.
A&M hasn’t played anyone worth watching. People tune in to watch Vandy beat the team they hate. A&M’s best competition was Notre Dame.
You’ll get a huge bump this weekend.
