He's been duped by networks assuming he would get more money for adding teams and games to the schedule.
He doesn't have a fundamental approach to managing the conference.
I realize the idea of kicking out an founding SEC and big six member is entertaining to other idiot fanbases but it's a sign of desperate incompetence by the leader of the SEC. You don't threaten to disrupt a more than century of participation over a potential violation of hastily thrown together and haphazardly enforced rules.
Slive would have had a policy worked out quietly behind the scenes. He would have recognized the definition issues with amateur versus professional categories and he would have a better television contract with more advantageous schedules in the interest of the conference.
Sankey getting himself and the conference negative news cycle after cycle because of incoherent leadership and a lack of planning
