Respect your opinion, but it is not upon us to prop-up the other state schools. Regarding the shared metro angle, we don't have to take our cues from other schools? Whether they do or don't, we need to do what benefits us the most. Just my view.

It's a very narrow view.

Utah rebuilt
Brooklyn rebuilt

What did they rebuild?

And no shite we need picks. We're not getting lottery picks from Poole and Murray's contracts.
You typed all that when all you had to say was that you’re cool with the play-in being our perpetual ceiling

The amount of idiots that don't understand

Says the guy who thinks Dejounte fricking Murray is the best player on our roster

And ftr, I was not under the impression that if we kept and let CJ walk after this year that we'd have $30m to spend.

We need to start clearing the books though for a rebuild, not trading around like for like salaries in hopes of a quick fix.
So fans should accept that as is and not speak their mind?

That's a good way to kill fan interest.

If we keep doing things the way we've been doing, then the franchise may as well pack it in. Do you really want the play-in to be the perpetual ceiling? Because that's what it is and will continue to be if drastic measures aren't taken.

Where exactly do your think he should be ranked? 600 is pretty damn accurate for current Kyrgios . His current form and conditioning are terrible

Let me put it this way. If a healthy Kyrgios played the #599 or #601, he dog walks them.

North Texas?

Are you trolling?

This is the second time you've listed a program that doesn't have a baseball team.
quote:

ather CJ > Poole/ Bey then idk what to tell you.

I'd rather not be locked in for Poole for two more years after this. CJ is off Washington's books after this year. It was a bad trade.

DJ could still be the best player on our roster.

Then we are destined to never win anything.

We’ll just disagree on this. I think the paying customers can complain about shitty non conference home games from time to time, regardless of what other teams are doing.

But when it comes to pre-con scheduling, the paying customer at-large doesn't really know who is and isn't shitty.

Like outside of the LSU fans who are also college baseball diehards (which is a very small portion of the fanbase), scheduling Sacramento State is basically the same as scheduling Purdue Ft. Wayne.

The OP's complaint is rooted in not recognizing the team's LSU is playing. Which I'm sure is the case for many. It's why this thread was created with the thought that our pre-con schedule was "bad" because he sees Sacramento St. and says "that's an FCS school in football, they must be shite in baseball too"
A combined Griff/Dumars masterclass of idiocy.

My schedule complaints are playing Southern and Grambling

I actually like the fact that LSU "spreads the wealth" with all the in-state schools though.

And if we didn't play Southern, we'd probably be the only team in D1 that doesn't play a midweek game with a D1 school in the same metro.

I think it’s very fair for locals going to games to criticize it some years when it’s all garbage teams.

If LSU was the outlier and the majority of the top-tier SEC teams were playing P4 teams, sure.

In reality, all those teams are going out of their way to play a series with a "good" team or traveling for a round robin one weekend out of pre-con slate. The rest is filled with northern teams coming down for series to avoid indoor practices, with in-state mid-week games.
Don't think it's fair to classify Kyrgios as just your run of the mill 600th ranked tennis player. At his best, he is easily a seeded player.

With that said, he also has been chronically injured for the last 2.5 years.

There are times to criticize the schedule.

I don't think there is ever a reason to criticize the OOC schedule unless you think it really matters to get the #1 overall seed.
quote:

Does anyone know the thought process behind this?

The season doesn't matter until SEC play starts.

The pre-conference schedule is basically spring training with the staff getting a chance to see a lot of different players and lineup combos.

Except that I think we all know that Gayle is unlikely to allow Dumars to intentionally bottom out, so talking about it is a waste of time.

You need to make up your mind. You've also said Gayle doesn't now the Pels exist.
You have to trade Herb and Trey (and Zion, but that's a given) this season/offseason before the draft.

Herb may be my favorite Pels player of all-time, but the unfortunate truth of all of this is that we botched the Zion era so bad, that those contracts no longer matchup with our timeline.

Accept it, we need to start over and do a full on rebuild with Fears and Queen as the beginning of a new core. By the time we get to the point where they are entering their prime, Herb, Trey and Zion's contracts will be running out and they are sure as shite not re-signing with us.

We need to use those three now to get back into the lottery and then tank next year for another lottery pick.

Stop thinking that we can make one or two moves that can maybe push into the play-in or playoffs, that does us no good. We need to bottom out.

Back to mediocrity

You’d are giving this team waaay too much credit in calling it mediocre

WR gave up on the play. Didnt even know the ball was there

You still don’t wrap up the receiver… literally nothing good can come from doing that

I mean yeah… that’s a PI. Ball was in play and he wrapped his arms around him
