Yeah but Bama isn’t dumb enough to create a fake charity to pay players and then brag about it to anyone who has ears.

A&M has to be one of them as well

My sources are saying A&M is in the crosshairs of the investigation.

A&M needs to be the first stop. NCAA opened a can of worms with this NIL. Hopefully they can get under control before it ruins the game.

A&M is definitely on the up and up getting every five star in the country

Aggy is using NIL to smokescreen the other backpacks full of cash to the families and/or players. Plain as day.

a&m has to be paying $$$ like Texas for all these 5* recruits to all of a sudden wanting to go to College Station. OMG!

What a bunch of crybabies!

This right here. The horns up and announced an illegal program on their official Twitter account. How fricking stupid can they be?

You seriously think it's us?

We were smart about it and did it right out in the open, within the rules. The only downside was it took a while to set up...meanwhile A&M in an act of desperation, doubled down on the dark money.

It's unfortunate because NIL was set up to benefit the players and ensure they get the majority of the money, not trainers, uncles, etc. Once y'all heard Texas was coming to the SEC, you went full retard with the bag game. It couldn't be more obvious what is happening in College Station, y'all are fricked.

NIL doesn't regulate who can get paid.

Players being paid through NIL, including family, friends, pastors? Nothing wrong with any of that.

Getting paid in monthly installments certainly helps. Cash payments for visits and lump sums of money leads to people with their hand out.

I have yet to hear of any Aggie NIL deals that would remotely justify the level of attention they're getting from almost every 5 star.

NIL deals are not required to be made public, only reported to the university. I think its safe to say A&M recruits are getting some major monetary incentive. Jimbo didn't become an elite recruiter overnight, its all about the money.

I'll be curious who the first kid to face tax evasion charges will be. Kids simply not filing a yearly return on the up and up. Just about every case, if taken to court, would forensicly show the NIL vs new assets etc would fall short. Never know.

The NIL deals have to be reported to the university. It would take a supremely stupid AD to not have a tax compliance officer on staff to make sure every kid pays taxes on every NIL dollar. That's an easy problem to solve.

Ultimately that contract is between the NIL entity and the athlete.Im not sure how staff can "make sure" those kids pay taxes.

Several are gonna get stuck with a
fat 1099 at the end of the day and I can promise you there'll be some horror stories.

You don't think some of these kids won't spend every penny and save zero for taxes? I can promise you it will happen.

I read the article. It is about a University of Texas slush fund set up by boosters to entice recruits. I'd hate to see you get thumped before you even get started. In the meantime, recruit well ........ legally.

Ahh, desperation in a once great university program.

But that would also eliminate many children's hospitals and red cross type groups, that could actually do some good by having the college star helping them raise money, so there that.

I think it would still be allowed, the issue would be paying the athletes to do it vs true charity work.
