I’m convinced most of the folks cheering this on are sidewalk fans.

I would be surprised if Wright actually plays. It wouldn’t shock me if Sankey came out and said LSU is ineligible for SEC competition if he is on the roster. He already said a few days ago none of these players can sign with other SEC schools

He understands that if he hadn’t signed with LSU, you’d be on here bitching and whining right now.

I understand that if he hadn’t signed with LSU he’d be at OM.

This isn’t about what benefits your team this year and I appreciate you putting your fandom aside to speak truth.

Putting my fandom aside? Bitch, please.

I’m gonna yell just as loud for him as I do the rest of the team on Saturdays . This is fricked up, but if he’s a Tiger, then he’s a Tiger.

No.

Why would I want OM to have a good TE?

We had already moved on from him being on the team. He’s a great tight end with his only weakness being run blocking. But there’s a reason our people talked with him initially but decided we weren’t interested in bringing him back. It had nothing to do with his ability. It was more the unknown of how Sankey and the SEC will handle it and his asking price allegedly

Forfeit then. We'll take the automatic W

It would be hilarious if all SEC schools forfeited against LSU. LSU could finish undefeated but they wouldn’t be bowl eligible since the NCAA does not count forfeits as wins.

quote:

SEC Conference Rules

Under official Southeastern Conference (SEC) scheduling policies, if a team is unable to play a scheduled game due to roster shortages, injuries, or other reasons, they must forfeit.

The ready team is credited with a win (1-0) in the SEC standings. The forfeiting team is handed a loss (0-1) in the SEC standings. These results are strictly applied to determine conference title game participants and tiebreakers.

NCAA and Bowl Eligibility Rules

The NCAA has a completely separate policy for official, historical win-loss records and postseason requirements:

Bowl Eligibility: The NCAA explicitly states that forfeited games do not count when calculating the 6 regular-season wins required to become bowl eligible.

Statistics: No individual or team statistics are recorded for a game that is forfeited before it begins

I think there should be exceptions for these guys that would have otherwise had a chance to play an additional year with the new 5 for 5 ruling...it is too bad the ruling occurred this late in the game.

I agree let’s bring back Fournette. Use him as a short yardage back. It shouldn’t matter if a player played 2 preseason games or 8 years. He didn’t get that 5th year……..I am being sarcastic, this is a fricking clown show and embarrassing

You laugh, but that's 100% going to be a lawsuit at some point. Not fournette specifically, but some 26 year old pro player who is cut from the NFL after 3 seasons is absolutely going to bring a lawsuit to get to play a 4th or 5th year in college.

Didn’t Bediako play in a regular season in the NBA G League, which is a professional league for three years.

This kid went to training camp with an NFL team and most would have played in a pre-season game.

If preseason games don’t acrue you time in the league, then it shouldn’t cost you eligibility if players are now allowed to have agents.

I don’t agree with these kids coming back in general, but this year is messed up and it is a big difference for them vs others that played in pro developmental leagues.

Like the basketball player from the G League LSU is trying to get, he should not be eligible.

It is insane. The worst part are the ignorant ppl who say they are finding loopholes in the rules. It’s not loopholes the rules are clear. They are judge shopping till they find one that will rule the way they want. LSU did it here. Ole Miss did it with Chambliss. Politicians have been doing it for years. It is no different that the pill head being cut off by their doctor and they start doctor shopping to find one to give them a new prescription
