I believe this is the most common projection of permanent opponents:

ALABAMA – Auburn, Tennessee, LSU.
ARKANSAS – Missouri, Ole Miss, Texas.
AUBURN – Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt.
FLORIDA – Georgia, South Carolina, Oklahoma.
GEORGIA – Auburn, Florida, Kentucky.
KENTUCKY – Mississippi State, South Carolina, Georgia.
LSU – Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama.
MISSOURI – Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma.
MISSISSIPPI STATE – Ole Miss, Kentucky, Texas A&M.
OLE MISS – Mississippi State, LSU, Arkansas.
OKLAHOMA – Texas, Missouri, Florida.
SOUTH CAROLINA – Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky.
TENNESSEE – Vanderbilt, Alabama, South Carolina.
TEXAS – Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas.
TEXAS A&M – Texas, LSU, Mississippi State.
VANDERBILT – Tennessee, Auburn, Missouri.

If this is indeed the case, it creates a bit of an issues on rivalry week.

Alabama will play Auburn
Arkansas will play Missouri (I presume)
Florida will play Florida State
Georgia will play Georgia Tech
Kentucky will play Louisville
Mississippi State will play Ole Miss
South Carolina will play Clemson
Tennessee will play Vanderbilt
Texas will play Texas A&M

This leaves Oklahoma and LSU.

Bedlam is ending, so they won't have an opponent in place.
LSU could add back Tulane on an annual basis I suppose.

Missouri is apparently resuming the "Border War" with Kansas in 2025. That would leave Arkansas open that last week and Oklahoma is one of their opponents.

It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

If this is the case, have each of us drop one of our permanent opponents and make LSU-Oklahoma a permanent game.

It's the one that has been most widely published.

Why do you think it is incredibly stupid?

LSU could drop A&M
OU could drop Missouri.

LSU's schedule difficulty would increase considerably. OU's would as well.

A&M and Missouri would both have considerably easier paths.

I have brought this up before, and I agree, which is why I think this is the solution that we will see.

Alabama vs Auburn
Ole Miss vs Mississippi State
Tennessee vs Vanderbilt
Florida vs FSU
Georgia vs Georgia Tech
Kentucky vs Louisville
South Carolina vs Clemson

That leaves these 6 teams..
LSU vs Texas A&M
Texas vs Arkansas
Oklahoma vs Missouri

and all are permanent opponents.. and If Bedlam and Border War come back.. then that’s an easy fix as well..

Texas would just play A&M a different weekend, and that would be fine with me.

it's the ONLY one that's been published.
I can also tell you that absolutely nothing has been decided.

This has to be the setup if LSU’s permanent rivals are correct. The Iron and Egg Bowl aren’t getting moved off Thanksgiving weekend just so Texas can play A&M that week.

While that may or may not be true..

LSU can’t play these teams that weekend
Alabama
Ole Miss
Florida
Texas A&M (if you assume they play Texas)

So unless LSU plays a permanent opponent not listed above, they will either play;
1) Texas A&M
2) OOC like Tulane
3) Rotating team.. ie Arkansas or Missouri

That would be my first choice for permanent opponents for UGA.

I've heard some Scar fans would want to add UGA? I'm not sure who they would drop.

Doubt Bama lets the SEC get away with this...

ETA: I would really like it if our perm 3 were Sooners, Ags & Hogs.

I don’t care if our schedule gets harder, I’m fine with it.

Because there is no way UGA isn't going to be one of SC's 3 permanent opponents.

You have UGA/UK being perms and UT/SC being perms. Anyone with common sense would jsut switch those consiering UGA/SC and UK/UT are longstanding historical rivals.

I’d be ok with

Texas vs LSU

That would be a good turkey game.

I sure hope that holds. Arkansas gets three cupcakes as permanent opponents!

Yes. I'm all for playing Texas on some other weekend. Truth be told, Thanksgiving weekend is not the best time to host a game in College Station -- the place is like a ghost town when student and staff are out. It's hard to get student to come back a day early for a football game. Back in the old days, when we had on campus bonfire on Wednesday night and the game on Thursday, they just postponed their departure or didn't leave at all. Nowaday, many students don't go to class at all that week. Times change, and the date for this game needs to change with the times.

Georgia has played Kentucky more than we have played South Carolina.

We've played Auburn, GT, Florida, Vandy, and Kentucky more than we have played South Carolina.

We've played south Carolina 10 more times than we've played Clemson.
