Stat time:
Alabama didn’t score a run past the second inning in the 3 game series. Frustrating for sure
Another stat:
Alabama’s bullpen pitched 22.1 innings over the last two weekends and allowed only 5 runs.

Actually Bama scored a run in the 7th in yesterday's loss

I stand corrected. But my point stands we always give up early runs and spend rest of games scrambling back. What is it that our pitching staff is doing wrong to start games? Its hard to understand as a fan. So many games thrown away early

I would say walks , judging from what I watched these last 3 games, walks were the catalyst.

Good game, Vols. Look forward to the rubber match tomorrow... should be a good one.

Did I misread something or is Bama now #2 in RPI and the top ranked SEC team despite playing all 4 of SEC series against ranked SEC teams (at least ranked as of today).

Bama is really really good. Said earlier this week they went from regional participation to regional host with the quickness.

Florida had a 2-0 lead in the 9th of their rubber match with Ole Miss
Gave up a 2 run shot to left to let the Rebs tie it, OM now has bases loaded and nobody out.

Just a complete choke job by Florida. We hadn't scored a run in the previous 20 innings.

Well they aren't very good for starters

Ole Miss with a 5 spot in the 9th. Wow…

If we find a way to lose this after this epic collapse by Florida they need to shut down our program

That was an epic top of 9th.

Meant for OU Guy, sorry WIKSF,
I just looked at the first inning box score for Bama scoring 3 runs in the 1st. Wild pitch, pass ball, and a fielding error. I didn't dig enough to see how many walks were given that first inning.
Seems like players need to wake up an hour earlier than they are currently.
In addition, stop giving up so many walks, they're killers. OU is 2nd to last in conference for walks allowed, twice as many as the top 3 pitching staffs. The walks, wild pitches etc. sure puts a lot of pressure on the defense to perform and make miracles, thus more unforced error potential.
It's not rocket surgery, team needs to get better, pitchers mostly, and Coach needs to wake dey asses up and be ready to play.
FWIW, Texas pitching staff seems to start slow for the first innings also. Frustrating to say the least.

Georgia is really good. Jackson had a huge impact on things defensively with the way he was able to frame pitches and steal strikes. And kudos for UGA pitchers being able to consistently throw off seed pitches for strikes on the corners. State did have many good pitches to hit all weekend, UGA’s pitching strategy worked like a charm.
State has some key guys slumping at the plate right now that needs to get fixed. And need to get McPherson back soon. Still in an ok spot at 7-5 and three straight series against unranked teams coming up, two of them at home. Need to get some W’s back before the final stretch in May that will be tough (@ Texas, Auburn, @ A&M).

This is not to brag (you hear that Karma and baseball gods), but Alabama has had an incredibly hard schedule. They have played the current top 20 RPI ranked teams: #5 Auburn, #6 Oregon State, #7 Florida, #16 Kentucky, #17 Southern Miss, and #20 Oklahoma.
