Financial details to come, but figure 10 mil per year. Plus substantial increases for staff.

I like the realistic approach to six year contracts. Do a good job and roll it over every three years.

Saban retiring really scared Texas that much?

He was always getting a new deal at the end of this year. He was making $5.6 million, that's not even in the top 25 of college coaches.

Scared? No. Sark was at 6 million per year.

He earned the re-up no matter what.

original deal
6 years $34.2

new deal
3 years $17.1 (original deal)
4 years $40.0

total remaining
7 years $57.1 million

Something like this is my guess, maybe even as much as 7/70. Either way, this was gonna get done this year even before the Saban news.

He deserves it. Happy to have him.

A head coach for ten years, and prior to 2023 only won more than 8 games once when USC finished 9-4 in 2014.

He has perpetually been a 7-5 coach throughout his coaching tenure.

A great coach indeed.

Why didn't they wait until DeBoer's first loss?

Sad. I was hoping, make that praying, that we would go after Jimbo for something like 15 million a year over 20 years. Show the Aggies how it's done

Kalen lied to the Gumps today..he would have bailed on UW for Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame and a small handful of other jobs. Hell, he'd probably take the Oregon job if someone had managed to snag Lanning.

His $ amount probably didn't go up much from what was already drawn up, hell it may even be the same amount. It's not like Sexton is hurting for money, he probably talked to Sark and got a "no" to Bama before he even called our AD.

Feels a lot like Jimbo after 2020. Hope the buyout isn’t 100 M.
