True. I only said what I did to make light of it. Which was ridiculous.

Ohio State and Indiana average is nearly double that of the SEC while Texas Tech actual rank is higher than the 4 SEC teams combined….. and it has been that way for the entire history of CFB.

The Committee is a joke. Even Texas A&M who was dogged as playing the weaker teams in the SEC still has a 16th rank. This just means that the Committee is not valuing the SEC top to bottom as it should. This should be concerning to everyone on this board.

It is concerning and only a dishonest person would say it isn’t that big a difference.

Was no more valid then than now. If your ratings tell you PSUnis the 14th best team, it’s time to adjust your formula.

Well if you look at this, 2 of their top 10 teams don’t have a winning record vs the top 30.

Notre Dame and Miami, who won the game when played?

Vandy and Oklahoma is a good comparison. Oklahoma is better against the top 30 and has better wins.

Vandy actually stacks up better against the top 30 and has a better SOS than either ND or Miami. Looks like that should have been the real conversation over the last spot.

THINK, why is 5-7 Auburn in there? Because they play good teams tight.

Why is a 2 loss Notre Dame so high? Because they are running up the scores on "BAD TEAMS" so them only beating USC matters not, this computer loses cred by not limiting the scoring affect on its algorithm.

Yup. The SEC needs to be taking a much stronger position against this kind of shite.

This is Sagarin's rankings of metrics

The SEC has 5 teams in the playoffs, more than the next conference by 2. How does that not value the SEC?

This is the only answer. And how silly is it?

Texas v Baylor is so dumb, but, if it gets a team into the playoffs (ala, Tech), then its the smartest move.

Because clearly strength of schedule is not as important (see, Tech, Oregon v. Texas A&M, Ole Miss).

The G5 AQ status need to be amended.
JMU played 1 P5 team and lost by 14.

ND mad at Alabama, they should be mad at the stupid rules of picking the teams.

Tulane and JMU are taking legitimate spots.

I didn’t realize how poorly rated Tulane has been, but that loss to ole miss was terrible. Absurd they are in.

bullshite that A&M is behind Tech, Oregon and Ole Miss.

A&M with better SoS, better record vs top 10, better record vs top 30 than all of them

Burn the CFP to the ground. Also why is Georgia behind ohio state? What a joke. Time for everyone to schedule as easy as possible since strength of schedule doesn’t matter

Exactly. A 6-6 Penn State is ranked 14th, only fractions of a point behind 10-2 OK. Where Penn beat nobody and OK beat Bama, Michigan, and Mizzou. And OK’s only 2 losses were to top 12 teams and Penn’s 6 losses included one to 3-9 UCLA.

Then, with Penn ranked outlandishly high, teams like Oregon and other BiG10 schools get credit for beating a top 15 team. Ridiculous.

Looking at the number of top 30 teams played by Alabama and Oklahoma, then comparing them, you’d never guess Ole Miss is in the same conference.
