I don't want to sound like Burton was in the right but there's a reason why there's a fine if you rush the field.

Saban clearly is saying “oh well I mean I don’t condone anything but she shouldn’t have been there”

He literally said the exact opposite

"Even though fans shouldn't have been on the field, we don't condone what Burton did"

I agree and the whole stands ran onto the field. I'm sure she was just caught up in the moment like everyone else. It doesn't make it OK for Burton to assault her.

That's some Gump logic right there.

Bama players are entitled to punch fans because . . .

Wait for it . . .

It wasn't an insurrection.

What in the Sam fricking Hill are you talking about?

It's called making mountains out of mole hills.

Are we really expecting Boogs and Corndogs to be objective about anything involving Alabama football?

She wasn’t even in his way so her being on the field didn’t impact him at all. He could have just walked past her with space between them. He chose to initiate contact. It wasn’t inevitable.

I patiently await OP to change the thread title from "punched" to "facial pushed" like an objective person would

There sure is and it’s not because players are not sentient beings who have no control over themselves and can’t be responsible for their actions.

Just me but it could be they met and as they crossed paths. She said something he didn’t like and he swings to knock her cap-hat off.
Not smart but not all football players are smart.
If he swings to hurt her she would be in the hospital or grave yard.

Saban don't give one f#ck about class, discipline, or integrity. If that player can help him win, that play can do any damn thing he pleases. Bama is Thug U. I didn't even think you could play for Bama unless you had at least one arrest for guns or drugs.

And think of the little children who had to witness this. Terror at such a young age can leave awful emotional scars.

It always fascinates me, how this kind of thing - law of averages and all - doesn't hit the right girl or boy.

I used to think it was because thugs knew which kids to attack, and which kids to leave alone. But if Script A kid saw any kind of weakness, or thought anything for an instant, I'd be surprised.

Yet, Law of Averages strikes again. Because no family from Knoxville is quietly trolling around Tuscaloosa. At least as far as we know.
