None of that has anything to do with Nick Saban sending a clear message that players have agency and control over their choices contrasted with Nate Oats acting like he has zero agency or control over the players he purports to care about when they step foot off campus.

I'll never forget a story JPW told in his first meeting with Saban. He thought they would talk about scheme, formations, etc, and he told JPW I don't think you're very good, I wouldnt have recruited you, we are gonna bring in better players but you're all I have right now so you better own a leadership role and get your head out of your a$$. That is all.

Maybe you can remember The trashing of Duke's lacrosse team by many in the media. It was nothing less than a hatchet job that destroyed innocent people.

I remember the Duke LaCrosse saga well and it was a Salem witch hunt with no evidence. This incident is not that.

What bothered me (I'm not just a random guy trying to trash a rival) is they didn't suspend players involved immediately pending information like almost all other institutions do.

As for "any shred of evidence" goes, Miller was given "cooperative witnesses" status. That's a gift that the DA gave in exchange for information. The Bama AD didn't need to give a similar gift.

Saban has gotten soft as frick these last few years. He bows to the woke mob and walks with BLM.

First he earned their respect by being a demanding hardass.

Then he earned their love by listening to his players about something that they cared about deep down in their bones. He let THEM lead.

Then his long time assistant took his blueprint and turned Georgia into Alabama east.

Yes. Yes he did. Kirby certainly has his own style but you can bet your arse he learned a lot about being a leader and developing players form the old master.

Damn, Nick drug his nuts all over Oats face. Honestly on one hand that's beautiful he's willing to publicly call out another high profile coach at the university who is clearly a POS. On the other hand it's probably because he's jealous bama hoops is having a more successful season than football.

I think you are missing the point about the spirit of the comments and what message each coach is sending about the agency players have over their lives.

Coach Saban has the right to say what he wants. Coach Oats has the right to handle it as he sees fit.

But, just like you, I don't think either coach would have suspended Brandon.

That incident had accusations galore and they were hot and heavy and made the front page and opening segments on sports shows forever. And it wasn't until much later, after the reputation of the players was destroyed, that the facts ruled the day. Are we all still holding our breath waiting for that media apology?

As I said earlier, foolishness is always in a hurry. And unfortunately, keeps repeating itself.

bama fans don't know what to do?

They are sheep that follow saban's every word.....to the tune of blaming themselves for a Sugar Bowl loss........but now they have arguably their best bball team ever. What a pickle.

I doubt Saban even thought about the Miller situation or Oats when he said this. Plus, I would question how aware Saban even is about the high level of backlash Oats received over the “wrong place, wrong time” comment. It’s not like Saban read all of the angry Tweets or opinion columns about it.

My point is, I just don’t think Saban thinks about a situation not involving the football program when making comments about another situation that does. Therefore, I don’t think Saban’s comments were an intentional shot at Oats.

That team could’ve made a run if Mitchell wasn’t a dumbass.
