Sabans Full quote

quote:

There’s no such thing as being in the wrong place at the wrong time. You’ve gotta be responsible for who you’re with, who you’re around and what you do, who you associate yourself with and the situations that you put yourself in.

You garner particularly low expectations, too.

I mean, clearly there is a such a thing as "wrong place, wrong time" so Saban is objectively wrong on this one.

Yes, but in spirit I agree with Saban. People always acting like they have no choice or agency in their lives. Take control over putting yourself in position for success in life.

Oats essentially said y'all wanna party and carry guns on your time, I can't do shite about it.

Saban gave a grown man response.

Nope. If he was somehow ‘culpable,’ he would’ve been charged with accessory, conspiracy, or at least giving false statements to law enforcement. Until something like that happens, the kid has the right to keep doing his thing.

So then, I can assume you agree that Hillary Clinton is not culpable of anything since she hasn’t been charged with anything.

OJ was charged, but found innocent. Do you think he was culpable for anything?

I think it is quite hypocritically funny that you were most likely an extremely vocal contributor to the Cam Newton situation. I absolutely have no doubt that you believed (and still believe) that Cecil and Cam should both have gone to jail and Auburn should have received the death penalty (even though Auburn has never had to “stare down the barrel of a gun) and probably still do.

And they didn’t have ANY connection to someone’s murder.

Coach Saban has a player in trouble with the law. He has been processed and charged and he is suspended. Coach Oats has a player in trouble with the law. He was processed and charged and kicked off the team.

mean did he check with bama SID before saying this:

Lol at thinking Saban has to check with anyone before doing or saying what he wants. He could get the Bama SID fired for questioning what he said

I hate the bitch and am MAGA af, but she isn’t culpable unless charged.

He was arrested, charged, tried, and acquitted. The evidence (imo) clearly supported a conviction, but it didn’t happen. It appears that you prefer to ignore judicial process and lynch people based on your feels.

I wasn’t on these boards at that time, but hey, keep running with your feels.

Hillary has probably had a few Arkancided, OJ probably did it, and I don’t think that Cam and Pops killed anyone…being sleazy is’t a capital offense as far as I know.

While I'm certainly not a fan, most have great respect for Saban. That said, I'm not sure how much this is Saban's directness and maturity or is this the administration's attempt to correct their previous mistake.

Either way, it's a step in the right direction.

I highly doubt the administration told him to say that. That’s a direct shot at Oates.

It didn’t have to be this way.

You could’ve been a functional, helpful, and informative poster. However, you chose this path.

You choose a behavior, you choose the sequence.

It would be funny if they tried. I can only imagine his response.

I think it was more of a message to his own team as Saban has always felt very strongly about teaching his players to make smart choices that benefit themselves in the long run. But certainly the exact phrasing Saban used is no accident. I somehow doubt he is completely unaware of what Oats said and the reaction it got but hey, he is a busy man.

The administration and coach Oats have already come out weeks ago and said he misspoke and didn't have all the latest info at the time. He then went on to clarify his comments. No one hid that. Including the AD.

You may want to step back now and think about the many different ways coach Saban has handled different legal problems with his players. Maybe you can even research on the rant.

I guess by that logic, any man that got “Me Too’d” has to take culpability regardless of not having any proof that they committed a crime.

Oats and the basketball team hurt Bama’s brand (overall) and Saban seems pretty upset or frustrated about it…
