Considering Saban is from WV and Oats is from NY I think Saban wins

Evidently you people have not read or viewed the latest testimony that has been shared. That details all that went on that night with videos from inside and outside the vehicles that were involved. The shooting was started by the Jeep that pulled in the parking lot behind Millers Car with
the lights off. Read for yourself if you dare at ryan.phillips@patch.com. It is very long so it will take someone who is smart enough to read ten or fifteen minutes.

Oats and the basketball team hurt Bama’s brand (overall) and Saban seems pretty upset or frustrated about it…

That's why he was sitting in the front row of BAMA games after all this blew up. He was mad.

Yes. That article proves that Miller didn’t go there to give Miles a ride. He only went there to deliver the murder weapon. Miles already had 2 rides there-Bradley and his girlfriend. He actually left the scene in her car.

I read two unbiased articles (ESPN and NY Times) and in both cases the journalists stated that we still don’t have all the information and some critical questions remain unanswered. I will not waste my time and read an article written by a bammer journalist…

Ryan Phillips is an award-winning journalist and editor from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A graduate of both the University of Mississippi and the University of Alabama

The article, and the articles thereafter, and the media, and nitwits like you, can not explain Brandon's intent or motive legally. The police would have those answers long ago and that is why he is not charged with any crime.

I have.

It confirms that Davis walked up to the Jeep, perhaps for some friendly conversation while carrying a loaded weapon. Mr. Phillips, a graduate of the University of Alabama, claims that two shots were fired at Davis before Davis returned fire. Neither ESPN or the New York Times saw things this clearly but hey, Mr. Independent Reporter who graduated from Bama could be right.

I guess we'll find out when this finally goes to trial.

All I know is that both parties escalated and didn't take multiple opportunities to withdraw from the building confrontation.

None of that has anything to do with Nick Saban sending a clear message that players have agency and control over their choices contrasted with Nate Oats acting like he has zero agency or control over the players he purports to care about when they step foot off campus.

I have nothing in my post to "step back from".

He then went on to clarify his comments. No one hid that. Including the AD.

He and the AD have been mocked on just about ever sports and news network after the apology. If you think it was handled well, good on ya.

Brandon Miller continuing to play was an administrative decision. The AD said that they weren't investigators and would let them do their job and at this time they felt it was the right thing to do.

Bigger than just Nate Oats. You must have short-term memory loss.

Your administration is rotten, too. What a shame.

I've stayed out of the vast majority of this topic but you're wrong if you think frustration was aimed solely at Oats and not the administration as well.

I said zero about whether Brandon Miller should be suspended. I don't think he should be.

I don't think Saban would suspend him either.

I think you are missing the point about the spirit of the comments and what message each coach is sending about the agency players have over their lives.

I think there was never a rush to judgment. The police could have taken this out of the administration, AD, and coach Oats's hand with any shred of evidence suggesting legal intent or motive.

Maybe you can remember The trashing of Duke's lacrosse team by many in the media. It was nothing less than a hatchet job that destroyed innocent people.

Truth is damn hard to come by junior.

The fact that folks are still bent over this saga is comical.

Give it a rest folks, it’s water under the bridge at this point.

I heard this and thought the same. When Saban said you have choices of who you surround yourself with.

People can throw stones at Saban all you want but Sabans GREATEST assett is he never lets a problem fester. That sonofabitch is still as focused today as he was when he got his first HC job at Toledo.

I'll never forget a story JPW told in his first meeting with Saban. He thought they would talk about scheme, formations, etc, and he told JPW I don't think you're very good, I wouldnt have recruited you, we are gonna bring in better players but you're all I have right now so you better own a leadership role and get your head out of your a$$. That is all.

Saban has gotten soft as frick these last few years. He bows to the woke mob and walks with BLM.

Then his long time assistant took his blueprint and turned Georgia into Alabama east. Now even in his own backyard he has someone getting more attention than him.

Seems he might be al little jelly and trying to bump oats down a peg.
