Georgia insider is reporting that Broke Bowers is likely to undergo Tightope surgery on his ankle. He's expected to get a 2nd opinion and make a decision on treatment Tuesday.

Hate to see it, but hope he gets healthy and is 100% by the draft so it doesn't effect that.

What's tight rope surgery? Is that the high ankle sprain surgery?

"This technique is used to stabilize an ankle after injury. It can be used to repair a high ankle sprain, which damages the soft tissue structures between the tibia and fibula and causes these bones to separate. It can also be used to stabilize a fracture of the fibula. The TightRope system anchors the ends of the tibia and fibula together with a braided polyethylene cord, rather than with a rigid surgical screw, to restore the original position of the bones and to allow for proper healing."

Dude is a great talent.
Sucks seeing SECs best go out with injuries.
Hope he’s back soon.

It’s is a newer technology used to stabilize the tendons in the ankle. It is flexible and not rigid like the screws used in the past and doesn’t have to be removed. I believe Tua had the surgery 4 weeks before the NCG in 2018.

it's the same shite Tua got when Saban trotted him out there against LSU in 2019.

Dawgs have a few weeks to try and get some others healthy and come up with a new plan. Brock draws a lot of attention even when he doesn’t have the ball.

So his ankle will be OK but the rest of him will break

Tua has had the procedure for both ankles. First time was after the 2018 SEC championship. Second time was in October of 2019.

KIds an amazing player and athlete. Hope hes back soon and will be okay. Although, you hate to see anyone out due to injuries, you really hate to see someone with his talent out for a period of time.

Hate to hear that for him, he is a hell of a player. Now if the defense could also be out for 3-6 weeks UF might have a chance.

Hopefully he recovers 100%. Sucks to see someone get hurt who should already be in the NFL making millions.

Jaylen Waddle got injured on October 24th during the TN game and had the tightrope surgery a few days later.

He didn't play agin until the National Championship Game on Jan 11 and he was limping during that game and only played a few plays.

I'm not sure if his injury was any worse than Brock's, but it's difficult for WRs or TEs to play with ankle injuries as opposed to QBs like that of Tua's.

I hope he doesn't need the surgery and just needs to rest for a few weeks. I hate to see him go down, he is such a great player!

I don't know for sure, but I think so.

I just checked, and he did have a break. So Jaylen's injury was much more worse than Brock's.
