Easy. Saban can't communicate with the team or staff

Saban: What? All I was doing is talking to my daughter about the game. I cant' help it if she talked to other people. Have you tried to control your daughter?

makes sense because someone can easily figure out in game signals from the TV broadcast that coaches wouldn't be able to see in person.

Not just signals, but overhead views of plays as they're happening live, replays in slow motion, announcer commentary that points certain things out that a coach may not have seen live, and injury status reports. They can spot substitutions easier and see the whole field, see weak spots in the defense, etc.

The view from the TV cameras overhead alone gives the coach a huge leg up that having a coach up in the box doesn't.

Can they not just put him in an empty box and let him radio from there? Why create rules this dumb.

Nick should show up to the game in one of those things that the pope rides around in. A Pope box and still coach the game. Nick should show up in a Pope box.

I guess this rules out the rolling iPad idea.

there is a loophole to be found on that rule, believe me it will be found.
He'll me moved into "isolation" status

But, it will not surprise me to see him take over a box suite and call it a coaching booth for the game if need be.

Do college teams have the same overhead views nfl teams have? If not I can see how him being able to view from television things that aren’t easily picked up from the sideline being an unfair advantage. Maybe that’s the purpose for the rule.

There’s like a 15-30 second delay from the action to it being shown on our TVs. Wouldn’t be possible for Saban to provide real time feedback, but could certainly do adjustments and such

Closed circuit broadcast to coach.

The rule has two purposes

1. Keep teams from having people that are not coaches from communicating or advising during the game.

2. Prevent a team from stealing signals with technology or use other technology that is not available to both teams.

That said, they could probably have an exception for coaches who are quarantined and fix this.

The Gumps should just clear out a section behind the bench, put up Plexiglass and put him up there.

If anyone can find a way, he can. He will make sure he knows every rule and how he may be able to stretch it to be a part of the game.

Saban and family has a suite at BDS. I am sure they will find a way to get him there and he will stay in the suite by himself and direct traffic from there.
