The 3rd and long where half the Gump offense false started, just for the refs to call a bullshite PI on Florida, was everything I needed to see.

I’m not saying the officiating was bad the entire game but the whole first qtr the refs seemed to be sleep walking and just giving the bama receivers a flag everytime they cried for one. You take away those calls and Florida wins I don’t see alabama winning a championship this season

I've seen this scenario happen multiple times. They'll usually keep the game in check for Bama early, until they can get warmed up and find a rythm. Then the calls get cleaned up a bit.

and Florida just bear tackled our edge setter on their last TD to open up the outside run.

Would love to know what “bear tackle” you’re talking about

Our DB has outside leverage and then all of a sudden gets stuck in cement as he tries to get to the ball carrier and his head flies backwards. Unless they blocker had velcro on his hand and ours on his side/back I'm not sure exactly how that physical movement occurred without a hold. And it opened up the edge.

Again, whatever, it's football, but let's not pretend that there weren't other mistakes made.

This shouldn't come as an surprise. Alabama been getting those calls for 14 years.

Interesting take. Not that it has anything to do with it, but Penn State had a down mysteriously taken from them, and they still won that game. "If only" would win a lot of games if we could only find him at the right time

Is that why they've stomped LSU 10 out of those 14 years?

Not all 10, but yes there were a few that Alabama benefitted from egregious calls. 2008, 2009, 2012, and 2014 all come to mind.

Are y’all seriously saying that you think that normally gets called for a hold?
I would like to see an example of that being flagged.

What about the PI on JObe and the obvious hold on UF's last TD?

Lol that’s a bear tackle to Bama fans? Forget the fact that yalls DB yanked our tight end’s face mask, jerking his entire body to the left.

But if you wanna see what an actual bear hug looks like, I got you.

How bout a delay of game that wasn’t called in a crucial part of the game on yalls final touchdown drive? Seems to me 2nd &15 is a lot more difficult than 2nd & 10…

Congrats on the win, but don’t come in here saying the refs were equally terrible. They were terrible, but they favored y’all, especially on 3rd down situations and crucial parts in the game.

idn't you know? Other teams never lose to Bama. It's always the refs' fault.

OP is going to be totally shocked when he figures out the refs were equally bad on both sides of the ball and gave Florida points too.

Let's not even talk about the other embarrassing displays from SEC refs this past weekend.

It's just confirmation bias. Plus the OP like all the whiny LSU fans that show up in these types of threads never are looking at bad calls going the other way. They are all rooting for Bama's opponent so hard they ignore those.

Again, this has been the case for 14 years and counting. Their fans are blind to it. They think because they get flagged too that it's the same. They fail to recognize the significance of the timing. Anytime Alabama gets stopped on 3rd down, you have to look for the flags before cheering.

When it's out in the open and springs a run? Yes, that gets called quite often.

I mean, you realize we could post equally egregious holds inside the tackle box too, right? Will Anderson was tackled on basically every play in which he didn't blow by somebody.

Holding inside the box happens almost every play in college football these days and never gets called unless it's out in the open or on the edge.

Their fans like to come back with the “well we had more penalties” we’ll no shite, half of those were false starts or delay of games, non judgment call penalties…and they still missed one in a crucial situation as I just pointed out.

They didn't call a hold on the edge of an outside run that scored what could have been the game tying touchdown from 15 yards out. I mean come on now. Are we just pretending that isn't a "crucial situation"?

The refs suck. They sucked Saturday. They missed some pretty bad stuff. Acting like all the bad/toss up calls that truly "mattered" happened to assist Alabama is ridiculous.

If the referees were working in a pro/shade to Alabama favor, that hold gets called and there is no shot they call Jobe for PI when both dudes have their hands on eachothers shoulders on an underthrow.

I do realize that. But don’t come at me with some ticky tack bullshite you claim was a “bear tackle” where your db is equally as guilty, grabbing our guy’s face mask.

On an outside run play where the hold literally sealed the edge and cleared the path for a TD. A "crucial moment" as you would call it?
