This last TD, though, was a play he will remember the rest of his life. They blitzed him and got there, but he sidestepped it, stepped up, and found an open guy 10-20 yards down the field. Receiver had a great run for the TD. I’m guessing it was about a 65 yard play.

That’s my point. I think local public schools, mainly Rayne and Church Point, probably see ND as recruiting because some of their best athletes go there, but that’s just NDs area.
You think ND gives free tuition to people to play football there?

Never left.
My family goes back hundreds of years basically in two parishes.
Does that mean I’m a little inbred? Yes.
Does that mean I can’t leave? No.
But I do find some value in having ties to the place where I live.

Well, LCA actually does recruit, as opposed to ND who is accused of it but doesn’t really do it.

One thing I will say on the “people need to be more frugal” side of the argument is that people’s expectations for how nice their car should be are out of control.
We are shopping for a car now, and there’s at least a $10k difference between the trim we want (which is still nice, leather seats, etc) and the trim I see most commonly.
This tells me that most people are agreeing to pay an extra $200 a month for six years basically so their car will have the right “Limited” badge on it. So how tight can their finances really be?

$24k a year just to live in your own house is preposterous. And what do you get for it? Bums in the parks.
But really it’s so that all the administrators can make nice salaries and have a good early retirement. Even if they never create a dime of value.

Don’t talk to me about the “facts of life” while pretending that men cheating, being selfish, etc is the same as women doing it.
Throughout history women have had to use their powers to civilize men, because of the nature of testosterone. What’s new is women giving into their most base impulses and being proud of it/suffering no societal consequences for it.

Maybe I’m naive, but in my little Catholic community in Acadiana, there are long-term married couples everywhere I look, enjoying their children and grandchildren, going to church and school events, loving each other still decades and decades after they started hanging out.
Divorce isn’t inevitable.

I always assume the Mexican restaurants are family affairs and thus have lower labor costs. Also, I believe that around here they have deals with the farm workers to basically feed them every day at much cheaper rates, which probably helps to keep the restaurant going.
In my own kids, I’ve seen an aversion to some of the technology they’re exposed to. They seem especially skeptical of AI. Wouldn’t be entirely shocking if young people generally are starting to pull back from porn as well. Or at least recognizing it as an evil that should be resisted.
