Revenue Per Game

I found this chart interesting
Ole Miss at $2.6 million is 13th in the new SEC, but would be 2nd in the ACC, 4th in the Big 12, and middle of the pack in the B1G. Missouri at $1.5 million is dead last in the SEC but is nearly 50 percent more than the highest Group of 5 (Boise State) and 2.5 x Kansas.
Only 13 schools in the country make $5 million per game, 8 of them are in the SEC, 4 in the B1G and Clemson. Also, how is the MAC functioning? Toledo leads the conference at $200k per game.

Missouri's number is fascinating because I believe our total AD revenue is higher than a few SEC schools. I thought that included Ole Miss but maybe not.

Super surprised at Florida State - hard to believe they only make $2.2 a game.

Florida State has cheap season tickets and really doesn't often have big games in Tallahassee. Their home schedule this year was bad.
Southern Miss
Virginia Tech
Syracuse
Duke
Miami
North Alabama

I’m getting tired of seeing USL…I mean ULL, constantly being referred to as “Louisiana”. Someone needs to put those boot lickers in their place.

Actually it’s probably Vandy but they weren’t included. Being a private school they don’t usually report their finances.
I also noted USC was excluded from the B1G

Show how big premium seats and suites impact revenue. Arkansas is way above it's ranking for total stadium capacity. $$$

I’m surprised Maryland is so low. I thought they did crab cakes and football.

Im curious to see where BYU would be on that list. I didnt see them anywhere and the mormons usually pack it out there.

I wonder if the existence of an annual neutral site game influences the per game totals?
How many teams on the top list have an annual neutral site game?

Our number doesn’t surprise me at all. First, this is 2022 data. We were trash and struggled to put asses in seats after many bad seasons. Second, and more importantly, our administration had gone out of its way for decades to make gamedays a dog shite experience for fans. Thank god, that is finally changing. But it is the least SEC thing about us. Most SEC schools encourage fans to come to stadium and have fun. Mizzou and the city of Columbia didn’t like the mess and the noise. So we did nothing to invest in the experience for many years, and in fact, actively shut down the party. Who is shocked that as a result, we don’t generate a ton of money on game day itself?

I’m sure the number they’re measuring in this article doesn’t capture anything approaching our gameday revenue.
We averaged just shy of 55,000 fans per game. That would be an average of $27/fan. A hill ticket and a beer would get close to $27.

Does all the revenue go to the athletic department?

Good lord, Oklahoma. Are y'all charging $50 for a hot dog or something? They're generating more gameday revenue than schools with stadiums holding 10,000+ more people.
