Using this logic, would Lane be the first to do so from Ole Miss?

Just to recap.
Sources said Friday Lane leaves.
Lane says this is news to him.
Sources say Lane is staying.
So, if I read this right

You hired a shitty Tommy tuberville by tripling his salary. In 1998.. most of the kids playing now weren’t alive.
Hell, auburn is leading college football in buyouts over the past 5, 20 and all time. I’d sign a 120 10 year deal too, catch a nice buy out 3 years in and move to the nfl until I could buy a minority stake of a NFL team.
Auburn acts like they are a blue blood. It’s pretty funny because they are only ever good when UGA is having a down year. Alabama doesn’t have the instate talent. Auburn is reliant on Georgia. And it doesn’t look like Kirby is slowing down. Auburn hires coaches with huge expectations and show them the door 3 years in despite success even a year ago.
Kiffin is going to be followed by PIs 24 months as auburn looks for a way out of his awful OCDC hires.

How many from Alabama can you?
Frank Thomas, Bear Bryant, Gene Stallings, and (soon) Nick Saban will have retired from Alabama with great reputations and coaching careers. Everyone who leaves Auburn gets fired for cheating or losing, and afterwards they're pretty much done.

Ole Miss was paying him $750k. Auburn paid him $900k. The year before Broyles came after him and Ole Miss had to renegotiate his deal.
Math is hard in MS.

Why the fascination with him?

Good old Happy Feet.
Never seen a coach more apt to leave a job at the drop of a hat like Kiffin. Dude has NO staying power.

I disagree. Ole Miss can only take your career so far. Auburn is a traditional SEC power, a national title winner in the recent past. Ole Miss has a ceiling while the sky is the limit at Auburn. Just ask Orgeron.

Not just Orgeron. Look at Tuberville after he left Ole Miss.
Ole Miss even went and poached Nutt from Arky when he took them to the SECCG, and even he couldn’t do it at OM

I don't think Luke, Chizik, Cutcliffe, or Tuberville's reputations were shot when they were fired/resigned.
If Lane leaves, his reputation as a "job hopper" who'll bounce at the first opportunity he perceives to be better would be all but cemented, though.

Nutt didn’t really want the Ole Miss job. He wanted to shove it back in Arkansas’ face. He quit recruiting the second he got on campus and coasted with Orgeron’s recruits.

A lot of misinformation in this post. But don't let facts get in the way of a good melt.

They are about to find out. Can't wait for Friday.

Lane is mad at the reporter because he is not leaving on Friday but Saturday. Inaccuracies are everywhere in SEC country,it's frustrating.
