He got a better job offer and due to the calendar all schools need to fill vacancies now.

He tried to stay in Oxford through the playoffs, Ole Miss said no which I understand, and now he’ll likely take staff with him as is customary when head coaches change jobs. Ole Miss seems to want to force those staff members to leave now though, which seems ridiculous.

Obviously he doesn’t care about his legacy at Ole Miss. And pretty sure he doesn’t care about his specific legacy at LSU either. He is more concerned with his legacy as a football coach. He wants to go down as a great football coach and he needs to win multiple Championships to do that. He is going to go wherever he feels he can do that.

He had 6 great years and was beloved by everyone in Oxford and MS. Within a week he just blew it all up. The cat can't get out of his own way. I am fine with him leaving for LSU after 6 years, but going out like this is classic Kiffin. He loves to be hated I guess.

He wants to be the Sith Lord. There’s no negotiating with that.

ncaa has nothing to do with how he handled this. sure the timing is bad due to signing day, playoffs etc.

but he personally handled this as bad an any adult could handle any situation. He acted like a teenage girl the whole time and prob will continue till they play their first game

You guys are going to have to come to the realization that he never wanted Ole Miss. Ole Miss was a means to an end. He doesn’t want to be remembered as an Ole Miss head coach. He did his time there and now he’s moving on to a place where he can win a natty.

He’s leaving a team heading to the playoffs for a rebuilding job because he wants to win a natty? That makes zero sense

Making the playoff is a lot different than having a chance to actually win the playoff.

See Tennessee last year.

Ole Miss will end up suing him for attempting to cause irreversible financial harm by threatening to force vital coaches to leave and poach the roster in order to coach the playoffs..he is mentally unstable at this point..he is ruined as a football coach..LSU should null and void the contract immediately

It honestly sucks to be an ole Miss fan

4 seed in the playoffs and you are going to lose your head coach and other coaches before it even starts
