They're both done at LSU. Smart transfers and sits out next season. LSU fans continue living in denial lacking any semblance of self awareness.

They salivated at every "it's coming" post on the Cam situation........but now, actually having something of substance is meaningless.

UGA removed themselves from the SEC and NCAA tournaments with the Harrick bullshite and that was over $400 and a prepaid phone card. If LSU had any dignity, they would do the same.
However, my guess is they play it out with no Wade/Smart and when vacated, LSU fans will say “we won it on the court, that’s all that matters”

Wade remains suspended and Smart is back for the NCAA tournament. At the end of the day, people will only remember what actually happened on the court instead of "vacated wins". Ask anyone about the Fab 5 and most will talk about the "timeout" in the championship game instead of the run being vacated and forgotten. At least that is my hope. Unfortunately I think the idiots in charge will forgo the ncaa tourney because they have no balls.

I don't get this logic.
Either both will be back or neither will be.

Smart and his mother met with the people in charge and told them that there was nothing to it. LSU is checking into that. Wade refuses to meet with them and as such remains suspended.

I don’t understand the reasoning behind sitting Smart.
You don't risk having to forfeit the games later because you knowingly played a dirty player. No team in the country would have Smart out there.
Kansas let one of their top talents ride the pine all of last year, just because they couldn't be sure

If I'm an LSU fan, I'd be worried about the real reason their big man was held out of the Vandy game. There's surely more info than any of us know about

watching the media crucify LSU with what we know about Kansas and Arizona is nothing short of astonishing.
The media crucified Miller and Arizona endlessly for a cycle when all their stuff came out too. Eventually, they move on to the next thing to feign outrage over.
The same thing will happen with LSU in the media. The LSU admin should have just stood behind the coach and players and continued as-is. The act of suspending is just to minimize eventual damage with the NCAA.
This stuff hasn't just gone away at Arizona and it won't go away at LSU. But it will quiet down soon.

I don't look at it from the forfeit side of things.
Here is how I see it........
If you continue to play him, you are giving a big FU to the NCAA. The NCAA doesn't like that. Lack of Institutional Control is the worst thing you can get hit with. That makes the penalties much worse. This is why I think Zona is playing with fire.

Real talk? I say LSU should play it out with Wade and Smart. If nothing comes of it you get the wins you earned. If they ding them and vacate at least the fans that did nothing wrong enjoyed the ride. The only arguments against doing it is because the NCAA may be harder on them if they do or the label of cheater sticks a little more. No matter how light the NCAA ding might be it will still hurt the program for years so enjoy the shot you have now. As far as the cheater label goes everyone knows it is widespread so it really is just troll bait. Play the games full strength and deal with any consequences later.
We ridin'!

Real talk on Wade and Smart:
Kentucky offered Smart a boat load of money and LSU matched it to keep the Baton Rouge kid at home.

this doesnt make sense.
Zone suspended Miller one game, Ayton never sat out a game.
It makes zero sense for LSU to "make right" something with the NCAA.

You don't know everything going on with the Arizona thing, PLUS Arizona may be burying themselves too.

the key difference is the Zona admins backed there coach, they suspended him one game, Ayton never sat.
the people in this thread saying we had to sit Wade and Smart are making zero sense, we have an exact example of what to do a year prior with what happened in Arizona.
Wade and Smart sitting is a cave in job by the admins to Dick Vitales tweets and a second rate search engine.
Wade should 100% be coaching this weekend and Smart playing, we already have a blue print of what to do.
