Louisiana actually fought against creating it which is why a judge originally ruled that it had to be done. If the state didn’t come up with a plan for it the judge would have. Sadly we are in the same boat as our breathe n with that Sabine statement by Hakeem

Actually jimmy teachers were willing to sacrifice a short term Meager increase to protect the funds for our students and the most vulnerable population. The amendment did not address legally how those programs would be funded and after this one time pay raise equal to about 50 bucks a check after taxes had no way of keeping it going. Too many districts would just take it out of their own general expenses and keep pay the same despite what the amendment proposed. In addition as others have pointed out, the casino dollars were suppose to go to education but our lovely government lied about that as well.

It doesn’t require a state amendment to actually give a raise. It also kills 3 funds that go to important things needed in school that the government does not have in writing how it will continue to provide it. After this year the “raise” is not guaranteed since it would ultimately fall back to the local school district. Four frick Landry and his grubby paws trying to give out more money to La Gator.
