The combination of NIL and transfer portal is one of the worst things to happen to college football.

And low IQ morons like Nico are going to burn it all down. Can't wait!

I think people are realizing that if Nico becomes a pariah, if he can't land a top job at a top school, it will put the brakes on some of this free agent BS that's plaguing college football.

I know this is where I sit and is the consensus among people I talk to. No one wants this kid to succeed bc we all know it could be our school next.

He may get more money but he’s leaving a state with no state income taxes and leaving for a state with 14% state income tax plus higher cost of living. He’s not coming out on top

Heupel just made what's a good business decision. I don't understand why people are acting like he let a Heisman winner slip away on principle. Nothing Nico did last year suggests he deserves a huge raise. The smart move is to let him go. It's not merely an ethical decision.

Everyone is trashing Nico and his father. And praising Heupel. I have to admit, my opinion of Heupel has gone up in the last 24 hours.

You know how bad you gotta frick up for the entire universe to side with UT?

That's the truth. Everyone is pulling against him.

I don't think he thought this through.

I wonder if ge had anything to do with it, or it was all his family.

Either way, the stink is on the kid. If my dad did that to me I’d be pissed

He's rapidly becoming the FAFO poster boy of college athletics. Not a good place to be. Replyreplies2...

Now let’s see who fricks it up because if everyone stands Pat this might prevent it from happening h more often but if he gets paid…..if he ends up somewhere like UNLV, he will definitely be a cautionary tale

I respect Heupel a lot more now. It takes some balls to tell the highest rated prospect you've ever brought in, your starting QB no less, to hit the road

I didn’t,…
All a player in college really needs is $500 after the game, a cold Gatorade and their favorite food.

I’d come back and say every average QB in college can now make 4 million.

Not surprising. What is RC saying?

I have no idea, but it's probably something along the lines of everybody hating it because he's a player of "color", and that nobody would be hating if he was white, and then he tries to tie it all in together with some poor comparison to Eli Manning or some other white guy that was able to slightly manipulate a situation into their favor.

Ryan Clark is a shitbird. If there is any kind of way to inject racism somewhere it isn't, he will find it.

What happens if he doesn't get the offers he wants? Is he going to sit out a year?

This move would mean I wouldn't trust him to be anything other than a 1 year QB who will look for the best situation every year. How many people want a 1 year rental this late in the game?

I mean people make stupid arse financial decisions all the time. It doesn't make them right just because it happened.
