No, he wasn't. He didn't seem confident at all this year. Began to assert himself in the last couple of games though, to be fair, but seemed to hear footsteps all season for the most part.
I think it's just a regaining confidence thing for him. All mental. He went through a health scare that nobody expected and it affected him more than people thought. I don't believe he's a lost cause. Just needs to be on the field and get some targets for his confidence IMO.

Most people don’t realize that this year, our QBs consisted of:
1. A graduate assistant coach who started practicing with the team 1 week before the opening game
2. A sophomore who legitimately had a broken foot the entire season
3. An FCS transfer
Rattler is a massive, massive upgrade that we desperately needed. Couldn’t really get any bigger. And Stogner will nicely compliment Jaheim Bell at TE, the only legitimate 1st round talent on our O.
Now, if we could just get a new OC then for the first time I’ll happily say I’m on the Shane Train.

Rattler is an elite qb and will make South Carolina better immediately . If he can handle a pass rush and gets stronger then the sky is the limit. Stogner isnt the same te he was before injury maybe he will get back into form o e year later and be the player he was as a freshman … he was a beast. Glad Beamer got these two players !

I mean, you figure he faces one strong D in UGA, rest of the SEC East is pretty meh on defense. South Carolina still will probably trail, so he's going to be slinging the ball a lot.
