The weird thing people in different states probably dont get is people actually hope both schools do well - it is good for the state. Sure, people dont cheer for the other team, but having good programs at each school is kind of nice for your children. I know I wish LSU/Louisiana wasnt wasting my money on a dozen worthless schools in places like fricking Eunice.

Well the people of Louisiana DO NOT stick together for anything. Every region has another region they hate on. Every town has another town they hate on. Every school has another school or schools they hate.
Folks at ULL absolutely hate when another school like LA Tech or NSU has a program that’s good.
Folks at LSU hate when ULL or Tech have a good program.
It’s really not in these peoples DNA to support other regions of the state.

That is not quite true. Somehow they include the veterinarians that graduate from Auburn, but exclude the doctors that graduate from Alabama. Include those, and the Alabama grads make way more......
How many Vets do you think AU produces per year ? How much do you think Vets make ?

the state of Alabama is really fortunate to have very good programs in almost every professional field between Alabama and Auburn
This. Plenty of engineers, veterinarians, and law students attending the opposite team they grew up cheering for, and it's well understood and accepted between both sides.

I find it interesting because some stick to rooting for the school they grew up rooting for and some make a change once they make it on campus.

If I had to choose between those two, Auburn.

A large percentage of the UA Medical School (located in Birmingham) are Auburn grads!

Alabama has raised the bar for academics and their merit scholarships are hard to beat. From their site:
Enrollment at The University of Alabama reached a record high of 38,563 for fall 2017, up more than 2 percent from last year’s record class of 37,665. More than 40 percent of UA’s 7,407-member freshman class scored 30 or higher on the ACT, and 38 percent were in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class. The entering class in 2017 carries an average high school grade-point average of 3.72, with 34 percent having a high school GPA of 4.0 or higher.

No bama fan should demean Auburn with food in their mouths. Animal Husbandry equals food. Perhaps you and other bama zealots don't need nutrition as you just get nourishment from getting a commitment from some five star high school QB. roll tide

Jesus dude, answer the frickin question like a normal arse grown man.
Never been to either campus, I have no freakin idea which one I'd like better. Rantards in here aren't the best indication of which student body and campus is a better fit.
eta - Neither school is Redneck U or at face value substantially better/worse than the other.
