Alabama is supposed to be tGOAT program, Washington is just some random mid tier.

I agree but doesnt that make it even more impressive that Debeor took them to the natty then?

Yes.
Hence my point, it's amazing that DeBoer was so good there and has kind of fallen off at Bama, despite taking over a much better situation.

He’s gunning for a title and will follow manning to nfl or will go his own nfl way if Texas doesn’t get there.
Don't know if a team has ever had a more championship or bust spotlight heading into a season. Preseason #1s always have pressure, but they've definitely gone all in with everything for 2026.

Arch ain’t the dude. Just send pressure.
ETA: Arch is Carson Beck. Send pressure they break. Sark would be crazy to follow him.

-1 Conference Title,
I must be misunderstanding something? When did Sarkisian with Texas, win the SEC?

It's not that amazing. At Washington, he was able to work under the radar a little bit. When Saban left Alabama, teams were lined up around the corner waiting to get their pound of flesh. It stands to reason that there would be some bumps in the road. A coach's third season at a school usually is a good indicator of whether he's up to the task. I think he will turn the corner and show why Saban himself still thinks he was the right choice. I guess we'll find out.

SEC separates the mediocre from the great.
It's easier for mediocre to mimic great in lesser conferences.

Brian Kelly was 20-7 across his first two seasons.
Your guy is 20-8.

And the post season record is not an apples to apples comparison. The losing team of the conference championship game gets penalized with an extra loss. Eleven of the twelve CFP teams also get penalized with an extra loss. And in bowl games, opt outs and transfers completely change the dynamic of teams - modern non-CFP bowl games are at best meaningless in terms of wins/losses and at worst misleading.
Total regular season losses over the last two seasons:
Georgia: 3
Ole Miss: 4
Yexas: 4
Alabama: 5
Tennessee: 6
TAM: 7
Missouri: 7
Oklahoma: 8
Vanderbilt: 8
LSU: 9
South Carolina: 11
Florida: 13
Auburn: 14
Kentucky: 15
Arkansas: 16
MSU: 18
Check my math, it is always possible I made a mistake.

Yeah, and neither Spurrier nor Meyer created the long-lasting dynasty that Saban did, and Meyer largely checked out of recruiting at the end and really didn't leave fantastic talent.

Alabama lost half of their roster when Saban retired, including multiple All-Americans and first round NFL draft picks. It is tough for even the most accomplished football program in history to replace that in one transfer portal cycle.
