Bama has finished in the final year end top 10 of the AP Poll 30 times in last 50 years. That’s top 10 not top 25. LSU only 11 times.
Bama has the brand that is built to last! Right In the middle of the most fertile footprint of Recruiting. Also Florida, Georgia, LSU, and TexAM are all capable of producing with right combination. LSU and Florida have opened the lock with the right combination. Georgia lost the code from 1980 and are trying to find it, with A&M looking also.

Yes, I guess thats why you had to resort to your third choice in Saban.

No. You're just lazy. Not going to do it for you.
Besides, I'm not going to entertain you playing ignorant. You know, the world knows LSU struck out.

What a moron.

Dude was their third choice, not fourth.

False.

Spurrier was the first coach they contacted, he wasn't interested.

Saban wouldn't speak to them as the NFL season was still going.

They moved on to Rich Rod and offered him the job, shite hit the fan and he stayed at West Virginia.

Only then did they actually speak to Saban.

My humble take:

1. Alabama
2. Laura Rutledge
3. Arkansas
4. Georgia
5. That soul food restaurant in Ruston, La
6. Jack's BBQ in Nashville
7. Ole Miss
8. South Carolina
9. Mayonaise based BBQ sauces
10. Mississippi State
11. Tennessee
12. Kentucky
13. Vanderbilt
14. 1939 World's Fair

It’s pretty clear A&M is #1. Between the salary, facilities, recruiting landscape, pressure, support, etc A&M is unmatched.

We were the greatest SEC program before Saban arrived. In a slump? Yes. But still the greatest.

Were you born in 2000 or something?

If we’re being honest, UGA or UF should be the best jobs in the SEC.

Resources, demographics, tradition, and brand.

It should be easier to win there, yes.

Same as it should be easier to win at Georgia.

LSU has a talent rich state all to itself. Should be a slam dunk, and yet historically they are an also-ran to Alabama.

There must be something to this "blue blood" thing.

As I've said, only 1 national title since the 40's outside of Saban and Bryant. That isn't head and shoulders above anyone else.

Alabama has had the benefit of landing two of the GOAT coaches.

LSU had 5 years of 10 plus win seasons before the goat Saban arrived in BR. That’s 5. There is just as much of a chance that The LSU program falls back into the depths of Pre Saban mediocrity, than sustain what you have accomplished the last few years. Which is a shame with the talent in the state of Louisiana. Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas, and Gene Stallings had excellent championship runs at Bama. That is 30 more years of high level success added to the Saban/Bryant Years. Now we are up to 70 years of high level success.

But the A&M of today isn’t the same as it was even 15 years ago.

I think what Jimbo does now and over the next 5 years is what to expect from A&M moving forward.

One thing that sets A&M apart is expectations. We’re still ramping those up. Jimbo has a chance to be a god here if he gets us to NY6 bowls yearly with an occasional playoff run.

“Outside of Saban & Bryant”

Take away any teams best 30-40 years and see how good they are.

What a ridiculously stupid argument.

The easiest gig in the SEC is LSU. No in-state competition.
