Closer than people want to admit anyways, especially down the stretch.

Interior D Line. Closer than most people think. Mathis Underrated, most sacks for interior d line either team. Bama basically even in rushing yards given up. May be advantage Georgia but not as much as people want to make it out to be.

Edge-Will Anderson May be best player on the field period. Nolan Smith has talent. Actually would not trade Dallas Turners upside for anyone of Georgia’s edge players. Advantage Bama

Linebackers- Dean is beast, May be second best player on the field. Henry T and C Harris very talented. Because Dean is off the charts advantage Georgia. Bama has players capable of making a difference in the game here though.

Corners. Kendrick is probably the most capable today. Koolaid has most potential upside. Neither teams best strength. Bama Injuries. Advantage Georgia. However JAMO’s speed causes issues, so Bama can cause matchup concern especially with B Young at QB.

Safety’s and Nickel- Cina- Good player. Battle, Hellams, and Branch much better as a group. Key matchup in game with 19 at TE and tackling in space for Bama. Cina, C Smith in coverage. Advantage Bama

Bower is a matchup nightmare for any team. So is JAMO for Bama. What other players step up and make plays against good defense? Which offense can create the best and most matchup situations and then take advantage of them.
The gap is a little closer than it appears:
QB-Bryce Young-Most impactful position
WR-Jamison Williams-Most Dynamic Outside
OL-Evan Neal-Highest drafted OL in game
Edge-Will Anderson
DL-Phil Mathis-8 sacks most productive stats under valued is Mathis
Safety’s/Nickle-Branch, Battle, Hellman’s trump Georgia’s Safety/Nickel

Out of 22 starters Georgia may have more than 11 advantages but it is a little closer to even than people want to truly admit.

QB position advantage can bring things even closer. It is like a good pitcher in baseball can keep a lesser talented team in a game.

Note: Bama has some unproven young talent as well, obviously Georgia has also. Even though he is young and green today, Koolaid has a legitimate shot to be the highest drafted DB in the game.

Georgia may have an advantage but you are not lining up against A D2 team Monday Night FYI. At least you didn’t a few weeks ago!
As you say, Bama will definitely be at least slightly improved for sure from 2020. Number 1 in scoring defense in the SEC and 4th best in country among power 5 schools in 2020 giving up points. They will be improved from 2020.

Very Talented defense and extremely deep. Developing a consistent interior pass rush and if Jobe or one of the other corners really steps up, this could be one of the best defenses there has been in college football in the last 5 years.

Will Anderson(Sophomore) has a chance to be the Number One pick in the draft in 2 years. There are multiple starters that have a legitimate chance to be first round draft picks.

Seriously the second team group would be a very good defense in it’s own right. Koolaid, Braswell, Branch,Tim Smith among others will be stars of the future.

Dynasty Continues......

POD A

The only long standing True rivalry you give up is Auburn- Georgia ( Hate to lose it). But someone has to gone up something.
Take the 4 POD winners. Play a SEC semi final round. Cash Cow!

Play 3 teams in your pod, 2 from each other POD. 9 conference games.

You would play a home and home against everyone in the league every 4 years.

I like the Pods. Go to 9 game SEC schedule. Play the 3 teams in your POD and 2 of the 4 teams from each of the other Pods for 9 total games.

Home and Home with each team in the other POD,s guarantees you to have a home game with everyone in SEC every 4 years. As well as gives us the opportunity to travel to each campus every 4 years.

Have POD winners play in semifinals and then Championship game. Money from our own playoffs would be off the charts.

So the moral of the story is don’t run your mouth in Louisiana or Alabama.

I hope everyone has a great day. Anyone need a beer?
LSU can’t get out of the way of itself, that is as tangible as you can get. Watch and see. LSU is in a window right now that could be opened or shut. If it is shut and not you lay a 7-5 or 8-4 record this season, it closes that much more. You are on the Brink one way or another. Your program is headed towards the crossroads, you better watch out, you better not blink, that truck may hit you blindside at the crossroads. Where are you at LSU, are you going to take that next step of consistency or maybe 5-5 record. What is it? Is it irrelevance knocking at your door?

Again The evidence is there, Bama is a Historical Blue Blood that will not go away for long, ever. History, resources, culture. We border Georgia and Florida, as well as have solid High School Football. Not to mention A national presence, TV ratings bonanza. Bama draws people, money(espn), people love to watch, love to hate. 2023 will be the best high school recruiting class in the state of Alabama. The Bama locomotive is at the top of the mountain and gaining steam.

6-10 more years of the goat, every recruiting class has a ring! It will take years for the locomotive to reduce its steam OR do we just keep refueling.

79, 92, 09 is (3) from 1979-2010, the years in which you referenced. More than 98% of college football in a Bama down period.

LSU should roll out of bed and hit their heads against the headboard on 10 wins a season, with the high school talent in Louisiana and no other power 5 school in the state. Also with the proximity to Texas.
Again Bama won National Championships before Saban in 6 different decades. They will win after he retires. Maybe not 6 in 12 years, but they will win.

LSU was irrelevant before Saban. Google your year by year record before Saban at LSU. Not impressive! Very few 10 win seasons at all! Hell even Shula, Dubose, and Frachione won 10 games at Bama. It is LSU that is much closer of going back to irrelevance.

However Saban is the Goat and he will more than likely never be duplicated!
WV would fit in better. Basketball was the one sport I thought Missouri could possibly upgrade the SEC in, I was wrong. Please go back to the Big 12 and get your hands off the SEC money!

Bama is so in Sidewalk’s And LSWho’s Head!
I can only wonder what Bama would be like with Watford on our side. He is doing his thing at LSU and I believe he may have a good NBA career.
I really hope this does not become a theme as we get into the tournament. 68 teams someone is destined to have a key player test positive. Could you imagine a team like Gonzaga having issues with Covid. Let’s hope for a healthy tournament.
Nothing like the smell of Corndogs
Sidewalk Come on to Bryant-Denny this fall. I got you a ticket. What is your favorite tailgate food? Let me know.

Gene Stallings with 70 wins and a NC from 90-96 is really overlooked. Coach Stallings is a class act as well. Your list reminded me of his success.
It’s Rolling Baby! Great Year to be a Bama Fan!
And they said they was going to beat are arses every time they seen us. ??LSWHO

re: To Bo Nix or Not to Bo Nix

Bo Nix has some ability. His fundamentals and foot work in the pocket are below average at best. In high school at PV he used his athletic ability to extend plays and “out athlete” other high school teams. This can make you appear to be 5 star. The truth is he has never been developed and when thrown into the fire at Auburn where athletic ability alone does not always equal success in a league such as the SEC. This is where recruiting can be tricky and appearing like a 5 star and being a 5 star are considerably different. Some players still have to be developed more than others.

You couple this with poor offensive line recruiting, development, and overall line play with limited pass game concepts within the GM offensive philosophy, it does not add up to a recipe for success really for any QB.
