This Alabama defense can be every bit as good as the 2016 version. It’s deep as hell. It’s experienced as hell. It’s gonna wreck shite.

Agree, which is why I'm going to spontaneously combust when we have our first game where we look like we haven't watched film all week and don't know how to blitz. Probably in Austin when we go up 24-7 early and then look up and its 31-24 to start the 4th.

It is probably the most experienced 2-deep in the front 7 that I can remember at Alabama.

DE - Justin Eboigbe (37 games played)
DT - DJ Dale (36 games played),
DE - Byron Young (41 games played), Tim Smith (24 games played)
OLB - Will Anderson (28 games played)
ILB - Henry To'o To'o (38 games played)
ILB - Jaylen Moody (55 games played)
OLB - Dallas Turner (15 games played)

So are we not considering Anderson and Turner to be D linemen?

I wonder if Moody can hold off Lawson all year. Those around the program have been saying Lawson has a really good chance to be pretty special. Also, it likely won't take long for Jihaad Campbell to burst on the scene.

Lawson/Moody is the most intriguing camp battle to me. I know CB is one too, but with HTT knowing everything one needs to know about calls and such, if Lawson can just get to the point of knowing enough and just be allowed to use his God given physical gifts..........that would be a lot of fun.

But as we know, they won't send him out there until he does.

I think probably LSU this year. Ojulari, Smith, Gaye, Roy, right off the bat. We will see how guys like Wiggins true freshman and Mekhi Wingo do.
Bama, Georgia, and A&M should be pretty good as well, A&M has lots of young guys though.

1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. A&M

A&M definitely feels like the one with the most upward mobility. If 2-3 of their freshman figure it out by game 5-6 and can be in a rotation with the guys they already have, that is going to be a terrifying group by the end of the season.

Turner, Jackson and Adeleye is already a really good group. Then you have all those freshmen who just have to be good enough to give you 10-15 snaps a game at full rest and speed and man, that's tough to deal with.

There's still some talent left at the DL for Auburn

Jayson Jones really took off towards the end of the year for Oregon. He’s going to be a good one.

Bama has a Fr named Otis (lost 131 lbs since HS) that Saban says is un-blockable.

Problem with that is it doesn’t really evaluate depth which is important part of the question on DL.

Agree depth is a huge component, so I probably should have Bama 2 over Auburn. LSU has solid depth on the D-line with Roy, Wingo, & Langston backing them up. D-Line & WR are LSU’s most talented and deepest units this year.

EIGHT guys with a recruiting rating of .98 or higher on the DL is insane.

Auburn will have-

Colby Wooden who has been a stud for 2 straight years and is extemely versatile can line up everywhere.

Derick HAll on the Edge who had a bit of a coming out party last year.

JAyson Jones the Oregon Transfer, along with MArquis Burks who played well last year at the nose.

Marcus Harris who played DT last year at around 270 and was very disruptive for an undersized guy. At 290+ this year he should be a force.

Zy. Walker looks the part and is poised to have a break out year.

I think LSU, Bama, UGA and AU could end up any order of 1 through 4 for best DLs
