We are two games into Conference play which means we can start searching for the star of the conference. No not Auburn, not Tennessee, not Alabama. We are not looking for Final Four contenders we are looking for Finally This Season Is Over contenders.

Today we have 5 teams that are 0-2 in conference play and we ask the greatest question in sports: Who's finishing last? Shout out to Vandy and Mizzou for making last year so much fun.

These are my own personal categories feel free to insult, agree, disagree, whatever.

Bad start but will probably, maybe, figure something out:

Arkansas - you are 0-2 and that is funny for lots of people here. But you will almost certainly figure it out, you have a good coach lots of talent and a home court teams hate to play on. You SHOULD not finish last.

Texas - OK you being here and not lower is entirely on your ability to put up a spirited comeback on an Auburn team that may have put the car on cruise control but you came back and showed us something

Oklahoma - Wade Taylor IV was out! Their best player was out and you still couldn't get it done. Oh man am I jinxing Alabama? Don't care, you have lots of problems and need to figure them out. You are ranked 17th in the country and have lots of potential but good lord what a face plant out the gate.

You are on thin ice and I hear cracking:

South Carolina - You are probably better than this.....probably? You early draw in conference is mean. You got a State team on the road that is going to be a lot of ppls darkhorse Final Four pick. Then Bama. Next up is Auburn. That's not fun. There's potential for spiraling after a series of tough games.

LSU - oh LSU. You are the clear favorites to finish last in conference. You had Vandy at home and lost. Now you have to play a really good Ole Miss team. Something needs to change quickly or any discussion about worst team in the SEC is going to be much shorter and only feature you.

After reviewing all of the evidence, we willingly admit and accept the moniker. Unfortunately, our coach cannot perform the duties of his position properly. The previous coach was a moron off the court and, while it largely meant success on the court, he buried himself. In this new age of anything goes, however, we are willing to reinstall the old coach because as long as he realizes he should not pay players from his personal accounts, everything else is fair game.

Congratulations to the other teams in the conference who will be playing in March Madness. We have already moved on to opening day for baseball.

It's LSU - I wouldn't be surprised if they go winless in conference play

It’s not OU. They have some great shooters that can light it up. They just were playing a team that sucks up every offensive board that exists. And they had a few more turnovers than they should have had. They clean up the turnovers and keep shooting well and they will wins some games. Definitely not last.

LSU….

Rest easy, you're all better than last year's Mizzou squad.

We had a stretch last season where we went 1-6 in conference play and was suddenly at 4-7 in conference play before finishing the year 9-9. So yeah we're in a bad spot, but everyone burying us already seem to have very short memories.

Unlike football, in basketball the gap between good and bad teams seems to be very wide.

Last year we had Ward and Reed. Without them the team is worse while the rest of the conference got much better. Don't expect some kind of heroics (like Ward against Kentucky) to show up for this team this year.

1/3 of those conference wins came against Vandy and Mizzou, though.

We are not bad, and will win probably more than we lose, but we have a major issue with teams that are physical, and I'm not sure how Pope overcomes that. Gonna be a grind.
