Ewers starts week 3 and the rest of the year.
Card transfers Spring. Arch RS ‘23 and Ewers starts last year in Big12. Ewers leaves for NFL.
UT and OU figure out how to come in 24….

Arch makes UT first SEC start in Austin against LSU

And I’m sure that’s the plan Sark laid out for the Manning’s.

All the Horn posters seem to be mysteriously absent this thread...

Wouldn't surprise me if Sark just doesn't want his arse thrown to the wolves straight out of the gate and he becomes the starter after Alabama boatraces tu.

Correct me if I'm wrong but he hasn't started an actual game in several years, right?

That's what USC did with Sam Darnold. They let some other guy get slaughtered in the opener.

Bama I think started Blake Barnett that game but Jalen Hurts came in and won the job.

Never got the hype on Ewers. He seems like the prequel to Arch Manning

throwing him into the lions den with Bama would not likely be good for him, especially with their O line.

He may not have a choice. With their OL, Bama will likely break Card in the 1st quarter, then spend 3 quarters pulling Ewers down by the mullet .

Sark is more likely to start and finish in 12 personnel (2 tight end look) and run the hell out of the ball. He would be an idiot to not plug Robinson in the game all night long and work off of play action for whoever is starting at QB.

BAMA will try to keep them in long down and distance. The more we see Dallas Turner and Will Anderson on the field together the more trouble Texas is in.

But the key is stopping Bijan Robinson, not, whoever plays QB.

Their defense was ranked 100th out of what? 120? You think their defense is about to increase exponentially? You think their OL and RB are good enough to make up for that?

If BAMA makes the shorthorns offense one-dimensional and we stop their biggest mismatch on the field in Bijan Robinson, they are in trouble, period.

The best thing that could happen to a shorthorn defense is for their offense to control some TOP and field position with a strong running game.

Sark readily knows how physical and talented BAMA will be and he will be in that 12 personnel look. He will also use Jahleel Billingsley much in the manner he used him in 2020 at BAMA. BAMA often split him out in our 12 personnel look.

Frankly, I didn't think Bill O'Brien did a great job of using this guy's unique talent as a receiver last season. I also thought Jahleel's attitude dug holes he never crawled out of. He still made some big plays for us and he is that mismatch you look for in the passing game.

He didn’t start last Year in what should have been his Sr year in HS cause he was at OSU red shirting. Of course they have CJ. So yeah he didn’t start last year like 99% of all freshmen QBS In college football.

But before that..
he was the highest rated HS QB in the history of 247 or Rivals. 19-3 as starter in 2 years 85 total TDs 73/12 70%comp, 6500 yds playing in 6A in Texas.

Meanwhile Arch, lost 49-7 in Semi Finals of the Div 3 private bracket in LA.

Why throw Ewers out there vs Bama with 3 true freshman OL? Let Card take the beating and blame and then bring in Ewers vs BIG12 defenses. Makes sense to me.

Good point.
