From Orangebloods/Geoff Ketchum:

“In one of the more shocking sentences that I'm ever going to write, it appears that Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is leaning towards naming third-year sophomore Hudson Card as his starting quarterback against La-Monroe.

When Sark said on Thursday that he has a "pretty good idea" of who he will name, he was talking about Hudson per more than a half-dozen sources with knowledge of the situation.

This is where we are 16 days away from the season-opener."

Most expensive back up QB of all time?

Won’t be able to keep either from being repeatedly planted on the turf come September 10.

Ewers will become the starter 11 September.

Why throw Ewers out there vs Bama with 3 true freshman OL? Let Card take the beating and blame and then bring in Ewers vs BIG12 defenses. Makes sense to me.

That's funny. All the Texass fans were bitching saying they would've stomped our arse of their dumbass coach had played any of their other more talented QBs than Card

Seems like, even a year on, he is the best you got. And you got boatraced by us with Card

Ewers is essentially a freshman with no actual experience. He may end up having a great career but throwing him into the lions den with Bama would not likely be good for him, especially with their O line.

Couldn’t agree more. You don’t want him seeing ghost after his second game.

Eh Arch is all name. I’d be willing to bet he sits at least 3 years. Dudes plays in a small classification with a team with multiple power 5 recruits and doesn’t dominate individually and doesn’t have much team success

This seems to be the consensus. Card has three years in the system. Let him take a beating slowly let Ewers ease in

Funny to see one of Daniel's alters make fun of Texas for the big money players, and we all know it ends well when Aggy's entire recruiting class gets arrested at a Houston strip club on a Wednesday night by week 6 or 7

I believe he’ll start Ewers week 3. He just wants to get through Bama week.
